The northern clubs are more professional in their approach towards training and preparation which gives them a huge advantage throughout the season as they are able to outrun most teams. Fitness is definitely a characteristic which helps you win games particularly at this level so all credit to these teams. However in terms of technical ability they are fairly poor with exception to some individuals. With relation to your reference to wishing we were better, I certainly do not wish I was like anything like most players from northern clubs because it is an insult to all the football principles I have grown up to believe in. I also assume you understood that delije_severs comment was meant as a payout, this has something to do with the amount of feral’s supporting and playing for those teams particularly Munno Para.

I would like to conclude by stating that we actually enjoy the challenge of playing tough teams whether they are from the north or not. We “Beograd” were actually disappointed that once we got into form in the second half of the season no team could actually give us a decent match apart from Brahma lodge (1-1 draw). So we are glad that we have been promoted because next year we will have tough games most weeks

The top 4 teams in Div 1, all from the North have players who have either played National League, A League or Super League (and won things) and you think that they are techincally unsound?

Yet your team which couldn't even win Div 3 (loss to a Northern based club) is technically sound?

As for having feral supporters, how would you know what they look like if you don't attend the northern club games? You should check out some of the Presentation Night photos from us the other week, if those women are feral, then call me a bogan.
PS, I don't live north but play north simply because they have the far better set up and clubs.

you select yourself a Western suburbs select team chuck in Southern/Eastern to even it up a little (SAASL registered players) & I'll get you a Northern one. I have no doubt we will see who is more technically sound & plays footballing principles

I have found that the one thing that the "continental european" players need to work on, is they have a history of not being able to handle the tough physical challenges. A lot of them are very skilful ball players, but after one hip and shoulder bump, they go missing,or they become undisciplined, go into self destruct mode. If they learnt how to take the bumps,and give some back ( talking fair ones,not behind play or reckless dirty challenges )learn to incorporate that with their skills, only then will they reach the top division.
As a coach said to me once, " Go Hard, or Go Home ! "

Getting back to the original topic, interesting useless trivia on goalscorers,
the top goalscorer in each of the 4 A+B Saturday divisions scored a combined total of 148 goals , ( sat div 1A+B, div2A+B, div3A+B, div4A+B)
while in the Sunday league the total for the same divisions is 157 goals.

at my club theres two older blokes - one tough as nails wog, one prima donna pommy. both are fantastic players and are totally the opposite of their stereotypes - imo the people (parents, coaches) teaching you the game and those players you admire growing up have 100% influence on the type of player you become, not some silly ethnic link.
