Tall poppy syndrome or else he had a bad experience at Florina, maybe he wasnt good enough to get a run. It appears to be working with the washed lads they have down there..Its lonely at the top..Good luck to them it all goes around in cycles. Look at Inter and PHE to name a couple who enjoyed their fair share of good times..

Relegation should be decided on the quality of your BBQ !!
Most of the Northern clubs have good Barbies
but to be honest is would be a shame to loose
the Fulham and Pontian BBQ's
Every Rat has his day !!

Update ..... How things change ...

PH West 14 pts – 28 GD
Vale (hm) - Loss
Fulham (a) - Draw
West Beach (a) - Draw

Finish - 16 pts - need at least one result, cant afford to allow opponents to take the 3 points, in their own hands playing other relegation candidates

Vikings 13pts -20 GD
Fulham (h) - Loss
Florina (a) - Loss
Downs (h) - Loss

Finish - 14 pts – can see them getting anymore points, and will drop straight back to Div 2

Pontian 15 pts -8 GD
Downs (h) - Loss
Ingle Farm (a) - Loss
Vale (h) - Draw

Finish – 16 pts - Will be hoping the Vale are safe by Round 18 and rest some players for their semi final the next weekend, although the Vale B's could be playing for the league title.

Fulham 11pts -21 GD
Vikings (a) - Win
PH West (h) - Draw
Florina (h) - Loss

Finish 15 points - Need probably at least 2 wins, with the other fixtures to be played.

West Beach 13 pts -12 GD
Ingle Farm (h) - Loss
Vale (a) - Loss
PH West (h) - Draw

Finish 14 points – Relegated - unless they can re-produce the form that saw them upset Florina, and snatch some points or must beat PH West in Round 18.

Vale 15pts -1 GD
PH West (h) - Win
West Beach (h) - Win
Pontian (a) - Win

Finish 24 Points - Have hit Form and will survive and finish 5th
Final Table
Florina
Then, Farm, Gardens & Downs (not necasarily in that order)

Vale 24pts
PH West 16pts
Pontian 16pts
Fulham 15pts
Vikings 14 pts
Beach 14 pts

Thus Vikings and Beach still to go down??

Vale will not go down. Way too much heart. Way too much talent. Supporters will lift them over the line.

Never underestimate what your supporters can do for your team. Well done Chris and Co on the last month you've given yourselves a huge shot at staying up. I think 3 more points will see you safe. Fulham and Vikings to go down.

disappointing result yday against Vale - they simply wanted it more and it was a bad time to have an off day.

Defintely not over yet and Fulham will be fighting all the way to the end.

Hard to pick anyone at the moment. Fulham aren't that bad and I'm amazed that they are bottom. Vale had to get some results which they are now as they were never getting thrased.

I think Fulham, Pontian, Vikings and Beach are the ones who will battle it out. Westies have games they should pick up points in. I think Beach have some depth which is important at this time of the year so it might be a battle between the remaining 3. Vale wouldn't want to get to far in front of themselves though otherwise they could be back into the drop zone pretty quickly.

If Vale stay up and Grove up come, it will be the battle of Elizabeth next year lol.

There will be 8 'northern' teams in Division 1 next year IMO. Two are definitely 'coming up'.

Can both Vale & Westies could still be relegated though.

It would be great to have Vista and Easties in Div 1 next year for us. Grove sound like they are looking too strong though and should get promoted.

We are in no way getting in front of ourselves, the job isn't done until that final whistle in round 18. We are playing teams who are fighting to stay up as well. We are staying focused on the job at hand taking each week as it comes.
At the end of it all there will still be Football !!

Update ..... How things change AGAIN... (plenty of upsets as Predicted by Nuggett)

Im changing my thoughts on a few results,

PH West 14 pts – 28 GD
Fulham (a) - Loss
West Beach (a) - Draw

Finish - 15 pts - havent picked a point since Vikings and have npw slipped to 8th, Massive game this week against Fulham - they lose and its playing for survival away at Beach who may be in the same predicament, 2 seasons ago playing for the title on the ast day, this year to stay up - in their own hands playing other relegation candidates

Vikings 14pts -20 GD
Florina (a) - Loss
Downs (h) - Loss

Finish - 14 pts – can see them getting anymore points, and will drop straight back to Div 2

Pontian 15 pts -8 GD )or 18 pts outcome TBC
Ingle Farm (a) - Loss
Vale (h) - Loss

Finish – 16 or 19 pts - Will play out an irrelevant fixture in Rnd 18 as both them and the Vale will be safe.

Fulham 12pts -21 GD
PH West (h) - win
Florina (h) - Loss

Finish 15 points - Must win this week, or its goodbye

West Beach 13 pts -15 GD
Vale (a) - Loss
PH West (h) - Draw

Finish 14 points – Relegated - unless they can re-produce the form that saw them upset Florina, and snatch some points or must beat PH West in Round 18.

Vale 18pts 0 GD
West Beach (h) - Win
Pontian (a) - Win

Finish 24 Points - Have hit Form and will survive and finish 5th

Final Table
Florina / Gardens
Then, Farm, Downs

Vale 24pts
Pontian 19pts
PH West 15pts
Fulham 15pts
Vikings 14 pts
Beach 14 pts

Thus Vikings and Beach still to go down??

What will happen ??

Agree with you on this one Nuggett  !! After seeing Westies on the weekend I think WB will get the result at home to keep them up and send westies down.

How vital will the miss from 3 yards out with an open goal with the last kick of the game end up being for Westies??? 1 point might have just been enough to save them.

The possibilities of religation in last game can see 2 of 4 clubs get relegated,
If Vikings & Para Hills West win West Beach & Fulham go down. If West Beach Win & all the rest loose Para Hills West & Vikings go down. Para Hills West & Vikings have to win to avoid religation. Fulham need to win to Guarantee them staying in Div.1

Has the league made a decision regarding the Pontians v Downs result?

If the following happens (very unlikely), Pontians could get relegated:

Fulham beat or Draw with Florina, Vikings beat Downs and Para Hills West beat West Beach

Fulham 16 or 18
Vikings 17
PHW 17
Pontians 15
West Beach 13

So effectively one of 5 teams could still go down?

Pontian are safe it was called off in the 75-80 min.
No decision from the League needed they get the points & are safe...

SAASL web site has been updated Result stands Pontians are safe 4 clubs in the Religation Battle...
