Downs and Para on the other hand pushed the ball around well with confidence and both teams looked extremely strong on the ball.
Just my thoughts anyone else?
What are your thoughts Pecker? :?

havin a laugh arent ya? Para will be good the main reason being they are and always will be a div 3 team. As for the Grove have picked up 4 new first teamers along with losing nobody so fail to see how we have done nothing. Sour Grapes as 1 possibly 2 munno para boys moving on to look for greener pastures perhaps :D
We were Div 2 last year and have been Div 4 and 5 in my time too. Fail.

Sparts, thought he had gone to inter...?? Goober has gone to the downs and is running around in the B's and should develop nicely with the quality around that place. He will be a loss for MP. Don't be sure that injured striker will stay either. Has the ability to play at a higher level, just depends on his desire.

He has. I think from where the red bit starts is where he starts to talk about Gooba.

The injured striker you are talking about will definitely be playing for para this year.

Lucky for MP, he will certainly boost their chances of going back up. Has heaps more ability than pottering around in the lower div's, should be pushing for a starting spot in a div 1 side.

he needs to get himself fit and injury free first and a season at munno para in div 3 is probably the best place to do that

to be honest i think a lot of players at MP could play at a higher level but playing with mates and not having the added pressure of fed or div 1 is a draw for most players. a good coach who has had pretty much the same group for 5 yrs is also handy

on gooba i hope he does well as i really rate him as a player. has improved out of sight in the last 2 seasons, my only worry is that he has tommy to knock off for the starting forward at the downs and that is going to be some sort of challenge. macca will do well at inter and he has been out to watch para's last 2 games, has been attempting to do some recruiting too

why couldnt the club stay in div 2? Fair call on wanting to play with mates, some people just wanna play the game for fun, but if the group is so capable surely the club would expect to be consistently challanging in div2??

if raptors were punished for playing a suspended player we would be.
still we were down the bottom cos we couldn't hold on to leads.

That is a fair question, but has nothing to do with ability. 2009 was nothing short of a disaster really and even when we were playing good football we coughed up points too regularly.

The TTG game at the Gully and the San Marco game at Campbelltown are excellent examples and symptomatic of the season. In the Gully game we dominated general play for about 70 minutes, were in a seemingly unloseable position at 3-0 up, and then allowed 4 late goals to lose the game. In the San Marco game it was all one way traffic and there must have been about 300 shots on goal to 1 (which they very nearly scored off) yet we still only walked away with a share of the points.

Personally I hope that the Raptors thing doesn't see us going back to Div.2. Would hate to be there by 'default'. Would rather see the club earn our way back there and get there with a winning culture again.

with the exceptions of the armstrong boys no other munno para player could play A grade div 1 and if any of them think they can they are delirious. As for having an able replacement for Doolan(Goalkeeper) dont make me laugh.

How many of the Division 1 players would be with the Division 1 clubs if they were relegated.
Being a Division 1 Club is a drawcard for players, you don't see the Brooksys and the Fudas dropping down a division to help out the likes of the Grove, Munno Para, Brahma Lodge etc....
If you can get to Division 1 (with a respectable income source) the extra depth you need might be attracted.

This is exactly why MP werent good enough to stay in div 2... good teams do the exact opposite to what MP did in the examples u've given. Good teams steal points when playing badly, not drop them while playing good football.

By wat i've seen so far this year, i know who i'd prefer in goal, The one who is playing in goals for the grove looks sharp. By what i've heard the players choose the team at munnopara not the coach. also By what i've seen of the grove the keeper is there only real pick up, otherwise same old grove. couple of new faces but heard they were from playford and struggling to get a go at playford, and will struggle out there in amateurs for a number of reasons.

I heard the downs is playing a friday night game at munno paro soon and one at inter on a friday night..Good to have a beer with the radford clan and pump some hard earned into thier coffers. Last time in a pre season twighlight game I reckon i staggered out of there about 2.00am and there was still boat loads there.
From what I have seen so far the downs have secured a few good signings and with Benny "the neck beard" Mcmuff stepping up to the big league and scoring 2 belters, Banya having his best pre season and burning up the pitch it is going to be a pretty good year.
Anal Vale are just a wee bit to young at the present but a mates lad plays for them so hes always good to stir up.
Munno Paro gave as good as the got last sunday and dave has a good young squad he can work with. The may be in div 3 but they drink like div 1..
As for the peckers I reckon trucky would be licking his lips to get at some of the downs strikers and I reckon this could be the game everyone steps up. Get your arses down for this one as mary is making a return to the bbq today apparently the club has brought her an ice vest.. Downs to win it 6 zip... 8) 8) 8) 8)
There is no I in team, but there is a u in suck...

not an ice vest as such but a bag of ice and an esky to stand in. Should be a belter of a game today with the new look Downs coming away with a three zip win. Legga to break the Couger drinking record and Vito to break his refereeing duck by actually getting one decision right.
