You Boys should probably stop whinging about the state of the pitch and just concentrate on the games... as it is only div 6 and where all lookin for a bit of fun...

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
I think our biggest beef was that we weren't advised of a change of venue until we all rocked up at Pine Street on matchday. The pitch itself may be out of the hands of the club itself but linesmen's flags, match balls and a team wearing the same kit isn't too much to ask for.united09 wrote:You Boys should probably stop whinging about the state of the pitch and just concentrate on the games... as it is only div 6 and where all lookin for a bit of fun...
Does Kevin Rudd refer to his genitals as the stimulus package?
Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Doesn't matter what division it is, a injury due to a poor surface does not discriminate.
Yes we are all there for fun, to ensure that all clubs should have safe grounds to play on.

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Have you looked at the state of your pitch recently at Fc adelaide... there is a trench running around the cricket pitch which could quite easily cause an injury if landed on... and does it really matter if the linesman have flags in their hands.. last time i checked bibs were quite visible and the ref had no problem seeing them... that is the first time that a visiting team hadnt been notified of the change of venue and it was a simple mistake.. thought it was a pretty good clean match on saturday and the state of ground didnt affect the quality of the match...

As I said the thing that annoyed me the most was not being advised of the change of venue, but I do agree with you it was a clean game (in that sense of the word). Bit of luck in both your first goal and our winning goal but that's the game we play. As for our pitch, I don't think any of us are keen on having that cricket pitch there.

That cricket pitch is so precious to some of us......... It oozes premeirships
Not long to go for premeirship defence of leather and willow. Bring on the cricket season
In 1854 Thomas Aitken had a hard earned thirst.

Who are you calling Bodo
That pitch is close on getting a league title. I am led to believe it will be the first in the club's history.

How long has the club been around for?Cunning Stunt wrote:Who are you calling Bodo

I'm pretty sure Adelaide Olympic won a few titles.

When two clubs merge it becomes a new entity, hence Germany has never won a world cup

That's incorrect. Technically all past achievements from both clubs are combined to form the merger club's history Just google Germany football team.

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
It's open to interpretation. In Belgium each club has a matrix number. If two clubs merge they can only keep one matrix number and only claim the history of one.SKIPPY wrote:That's incorrect. As for Olympic and Old Boys I don't know who won what, but for the last week some of the heirachy has said this will be the club's first silverware so that's what I based my original comment on.

Typically, in that case you would assume the history would be claimed with the new club?Cunning Stunt wrote: If two clubs merge they can only keep one matrix number and only claim the history of one.

That's th way the Belgians do it, but as far as I am concerned it is a new entity.

Congratulations to the C's at FC Adelaide.
Well done Bodo, you must be a lucky charm, might have to start working on the transfer for next year to get you over to the Vipers

Hahndorf 3 v mt barker 2
Hahndorf dominated the game especially the second half but could not convert many of the opportunities.. Some of the barker players were playin their second game for the day so started to struggle in the second half.. Results this weekend means Hahndorf claim 2nd spot.. Well done to fc adelaide.

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Firstly I should say thanks to Flinders for taking six points off of Hahndorf.
Secondly I should say thanks to Old Ignatians for talking six points of Flinders.
Thirdly I should say thanks to both Vipers and Salisbury Villa for taking points of Iggies.
I think I should rescind my thanks to Iggies after they took points of us ... pricks
Amazing how it panned out as only a few weeks ago the top four were separated by three points.

I'm not sure what it'll take because I am very happy at FC Adelaide - great bunch of lads, friendly atmosphere, close to home (even if most of our away matches were miles away).crue head wrote:Congratulations to the C's at FC Adelaide.

You look like the oldest person in the team, they should have given you the arm band. Did you drive the team bus on those treks to the bush?

I could well be the oldest, but at 42 I don't expect to be the youngest.
I've never been very photogenic either.
We didn't have a bus. I made all those trips on my scooter.

I left my cap at home on the day, but I'm sure my wife will be suggestng a hair cut in the near future. There are one (possibly two) players older than me, but weren't present on the day.

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Does top 6 win promotion to Div 5, or is Div 6 just here for 2009 because of the SAASL stuff ups for this league at the start?
FCA could be the one & only Div 6 champions.

Re: Saturday Division 6 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
I guess it will depend on the numbers for next season, but either way I'd say we would go into division five.

Is that how it works with the C leagues on Sunday?Cunning Stunt wrote:I guess it will depend on the numbers for next season, but either way I'd say we would go into division five.
BB told me when I was down at the SAASL back in April that Division 6 was created as the 'C' league for all of the Division 2 clubs (of which 5 entered 'C' teams, the other 3 were from Division 3).
Division 5 was meant to replicate the same for the Division 1 clubs (of which 5 entered 'C' teams).

I don't honestly know. I never thought of it that way. Cove and Pontian don;t have saturday division one sides but they play division five.
