How many offside chances can one team miss. First Toni and then grosso, RVN had 1 offside and finished it. And again holland show their true class, without offsides! Dutch have taken their chances and Italy haven't.

Donadoni has taken Italian football backwards with the selection of old so called trusted players. Take a chance and actually select our best 11, what about DeRossi.

thats football at its best, two missed chances punished at the other end, well done to Holland, i said they would go through.

great game of football though, quality play alround.

cant wait for training tonight down at Imbros!

They give up to many chances when they lead to win the whole thing, but they have attacked well.

Wow, what a result. Couple with the draw between the other two sides in group means if the Dutch win their second match they qualify for the quarterfinals. If italy loses they go out.

if he's behind the line he's not included and its off side, depends when he leave s the pitch, before or after the ball is played.
Officials have told the ESPN2 commentators the firsy goal was not off side because Panucci was deemed to have left the pitch deliberately and apparently you can't leave the pitch on purpose and make someone off side?????????? Not sure about that interpretation.

Unless he was out getting treatment, which in this case wasn't the case, if I had been the one with the flag I would have deemed he was playing the Dutch onside. I'm sure if an forward off the park like that came back on and collected the ball there would be shouts of offside.

CHE CAZZO

a field day for the anti-Italians.

fair play to Huntelaar who can now bag us, bu the rest please stfu

Lets just say I wouldve done things very different to hat Donadoni did. When I saw Matrix lining up at the begninning, first disagreement there. Where was De Rossi??

another early trip home for the Azzurri, unless things get turned around quickly.

and yes, the first goal was offside but its no real excuse.

Na I'm happy to give it when it goes my way, more than happy it the other way, Italy were not that bad... missed so many chances and Donadoni made sure we struggled up top, Cassano and Di Natale must start the next match. Camoranesi should never wear the shirt again, he lost the ball so many times I was emabarassed.

Kuyt was man of the match in my opinion... set up two goals and his work rate made sure Sneijder and VDV time on the ball in dangeous areas.

it was Buffons fault, punch out to the wing where two dutch players were instead of the byline for another corner...

Two counter attack goals were great, even if they made me scream. First one nothing Italy could do about... second one, not tracking runners, all over the place in teh box and finally Zambrotta not knowing what he is doing.

Canna is sorely missed, no organisation at the back.

i believe in fronting up for a loss but fuck its gonna be hard today

thank God it is the Dutch and not Greece!!

secondly I'm only gonna take shit from real fans not those who hate italia.

Man you could tell how much Canna was frustrated every time they crossed to him on the bench, Camo was a ghost!! He better not be starting against the Romanians.

the thing that hurts so much is we got beaten at our own game. masters of the counterattack and we concede 2 good goals off it.

If he starts it's a worrying sign. Personally I reckon this is the weakest Italian defence I've ever seen. Mind you still makes it better than most others :P
it probably is the weakest, but the likes of Matrix and Gamberini would be walk up starters in other national teams. None of the Dutch defenders would even make our squad, so even as the worst Italian defence in recent memory, doesnt make it useless.

I dont think Matrix will start but I wouldnt pair him with Chiellini or Panucci at any time. Makes no sense to have 2 'risky' players in central defence together.

i agree
