A's - Adelaide Vikings 3 v Brahma Lodge 0

Another win for the reserves today, three in a row and starting to become more settled. In the A's it was a tough game. Brahma were pumped to win today and came out firing, I saw so many unecessary hard tackles, Brahma seemed to be fixated on knocking in hard tackles rather than knocking the ball around, at times they coughed up possesion when they were on top because of silly fouls. Brahma still provided us with a tough game and I believe they will finish high up the table this year, they felt very hard done by the ref (who got a bad rap on this site last week), but silly yellow cards for rough tackles cost them in the end with 2 players sent off in the last 25 mins. 3 well finished goals by the Vikings in the second half was enough to grab another 3pts tho.

We do feel hard done by rofl. Ref had a joke of a game, booking 2 players when he tripped backwards over one of them claiming he got kicked. What player would kick the ref? What player would kick the ref while their team has posession in the attacking third? I agree too many stupid bookings, especially from dissent, was the undoing. The ref needed to take control of the game better than he did however. It was a tough but fair contest from both teams, no ill intent from either side and generally had a good vibe to it. It just needed to be allowed to flow a lot more than it did, with 2 sendings off and a 3-0 scoreline the final result of a game that looked like it had 0-0 written all over it at half time. Fair play to Vikings, good bunch of blokes and hospitable club.

This was probabaly game of the round especially because both teams have been undefeated going into the 6th Round.
Vikings had to win to silence alot of critics while Brahma Lodge had to desperately win to stay afloat with the top two.
The game was full of hard tackling and to the Ref's credit the game was in control. Brahma came out with fire in the 1st half but the Vikings matched them all over the ground.The half time score was 0 v 0. The second half both teams came out deperate for the 3 points.The Vikings were in control while Brahma Lodge decided to play some dirty tactics and as a result had 2 players sent off.The coach made 2 subs 10 mins into the half which made the difference in the forward line.
VIKINGS proved the quality team that they are, but full credit also goes out to Brahma Lodge for fighting to the very end.

Vikings 3 wins in a row, are just beginning to gain some form after losing their 1st 3 games by a goal. Great team effort and looking to slowly crawl themselves back up to the top half of the ladder.

Jurek Dristrjanski was the linesman, he did the first half of the reserves game and the whole first team game. Vista Vs Fulham 1-2.........a lot has been said in regards to Vista and how it is shouldn't be where it is currently sitting, however true that may be it still means that we are near the bottom of the league. It isn't cocky or predjudice to say that Vista is yet to be outplayed cos i know that will cause a massive uproar but every game we have been in the game until the whistle has blown which is a massive credit to this years coaching staff. Fulhams experience and coolness under pressure won them the game today, a soft penalty taken well and another goal from a mistake shortly after put Fulham ahead 2-0 half time. Vista put won past mid way through and kept pushing but some small basic touches let us down. Not going to blame the linesman, i thought he did a great job......that is the offical linesman who lined only our defence for both halves, the other guy was shite and blatant decisions cost opportunities, not goals but defenient opportunities.........is there a ruling if only 1 official linesman is present that they should take a half on each teams forward line? If someone can answer that for me that would be great

Thanks Handy, have to agree about the game played in good spirits. I left straight after the first team game so don't know anything about the burnout, but a silly act. Our guys aren't great for hanging around after the game, and in return we don't expect oppoisition to hang around after games at Marden (that's my personal opinion, not the club's).

Lets geta few things straight here. Hard tackles are not dirty tactics. For 70 minutes what we all saw was a cracking game of football and a great advertisement for div 3, a quality game between 2 very good teams. The first half was even, the second half the Vikings were not in control, and in fact were completely under the pump until the frustrations of the previous 70 minutes of diabolicle refereeing saw us go down to 9 men. Now granted you can expect to receive a yellow card for having a go at the ref, but its a 2 way street and there is only so much players can take. Throw ins pointed our way by the VIKINGS linesman (no brahma player in sight to even touch the thing!) overruled by the ref. A yellow card shown to one of our players who accidently ran into the back of the ref as he was running down the park to receive a cross (ref of course did not even see it, but gets up, flashes a yellow and says 'you kicked me you dikhead). free kicks on the edge of the box when our player clean gets the ball and no vikings players even appeal for the free. The list goes on.

Players are the ones that pay a fee to play each week. Players are the ones busting their balls on the training track 2 nights a week. Players are the ones running around for 90 minutes on sunday for no financial reward. Yet yesterday the difference between the 2 teams was a bad ref and some frustrated brahma players.Cant take anything away from Vikings, they are a quality outfit, with 11 v 11 it was going to take alot to beat them, but at 11 v 9 we had absolutely no chance.

And just to prove a point that refereeing can be done well, the vikings had 2 refs during the ressies game, 1 for each half, and both did a brilliant job.

If this is the excuse the ref used, then he isn't doing his job properly. We've got authority from the highest league in this land that giving the ref a high-five is a straight red, let alone kicking him.

Good game with Adelaide Croatia and Bosna Adelaide. It was an interesting match and Bosna came out on top. Even though it looked like the match would not even last 90 minutes. The Bosnian supporters were getting a bit too loud and were in a violent mood. An all in brawl was just around the corner.
Good game though,really intense.

Amateur football obviously means the world to these guys. Must mean something to you cause your always posting. Yea not bad result considering we had 4 players out as well? That was half of our reserves playing yesterday? Well another very frustrating week on the sidelines for me. In the first 10 minutes i thought we were in a lot of trouble. We were struggling to string 2 passes together and find targets and the Vale boys were doing it with ease. Luckily for us we keep the clean sheet till half time. We were still right in the game. Nothing too clear cut from the vale during the first half though. A lot of shots from 25yards out.
The second half started and we were just way way too slow to start to play. The first goal was an absolute belter from timmy crawford, not to mention with his rusty, i mean trusty, right boot. Nice strike indeed. I was giving you shite in the first half, then u made me eat my words
Then Vale scored again within 10 minutes i think. Nicholls too i rekon. Well taken goal. Then Andy Locke decided to lash out, after getting kicked himslef 2 mins ealier, and he got a straight red. I didn't think it was worthy of a straight red at all! It sounded bad yes, but it was boot on boot. The Vale bloke got straight up and kept playing! From there it was always going to be down hill. We got opened up on many occasions looking for a goal of our own. These things happen. Nicholls got another 1 of the last 2 taking his total to 11 is it?
All in all, from what i have seen of the top two sides, if they get a chance or a sniff even, they have the players with the ability to punish you. I dont think either the Farm or the Vale are anywhere near unbeatable. I thought the scoreline flattered Vale. I will be interested to hear what ginger or even tonksy thought of the game?

2nd Fulham goal was more than just because of a Vista mistake - it was clincally finished from 20 yards with an outstanding left foot strike that gave the keeper no chance.

And in relation to our linesman I think he did a fair job - home linesman will always be accused of favouring the home side but I honestly believe his decisions were accurate and remember the ref can always over rule - if the decisons were blantant like you say I have seen refs over rule the linesman this year but he didn't yesterday because there was nothing blantant in my opinion.

overall he was fine however the offside given against me with under 5 to go was no way offside as i was actually running backwards to make the run after it was kicked, but apart from that he was ok......referring to your goal, yeh clinically finished however if we hadn't given the ball away as easy as we did from our keeper, who played very well, then it wouldn't have happened

Dead right mate, it was only a matter of time we went down a player, I could see that too. And your right, players need to keep their composure. I guess when the adrenaline is pumping and you cop bad decision after bad decision (you guys copped your fair share too) you just lose it. Getting yellows and reds for bad tackles is fair enough, the 2nd lad sent off has no complaints, its just the yellows caused by bad refereeing that get on players nerves.

All the best to you lads, still a way to go, but that title is yours for the taking, and will be deserved.

Started the season behind the 8ball with key player injuries & unfortunatly it hasnt got any better as the season has progressed. Lost another one yesterday and possibly for the year if so you can make that 3 key first team players ko'd for this season. Big loss to any Div 1 team with title aspirations
