If Ben had of kept his mouth shut & not written on this forum that he didn't go to the Downs for money! I would never have said a thing, but to come on here & state it wasn't the reason he left inferring other reasons for his exit is why I told the story..... simple as that.

Come on guys, what is the big deal about a player going for money. People change jobs every day for better money, good one them.

Benny may have gone for the dollars but if he is building a home who would blame him, with interest rates going the way they are then every dollar counts. Look out for your own back first I say... no need for sour grapes over it.

Everybody knows the Downs attract good players by splashing the dollars, big deal... They have worked hard to get to that position and are fortunate to have some loyal sponsors throw some extra dollars there way, good on them, there hard work is finally reaping some benefits. If every other club had that opportunity they would do the same thing.

Gardens, Vale, Inter, Fulham, Villa, Lion have all done it to try and win the league... No doubt Pontians will do it this year... BIG DEAL...

ive got a sneaky feeling that this bloke isn't really nuggets mate at all. He's tried to hide his identity buy my cleuso'esque skills ahve worked it out.

I reckon he could be from the the other team.

See your point Nugget... I think there are many clubs with great supporters and atmosphere, no club is better then another because we are all bias to our club... the Garden, Downs, Farm, Florina are just some of the div 1 clubs that are great to hang around for a drink after the game. They a very friendly and welcome you in for a drink and a yarn.

I think most people know that not all Downs players are on the same money, I guess the fringe players may all be but there more experience players would be negotiating there own match fees. Brooks is one of those examples, he goes no where for less then $200 cash a game, saying that the man has the skill and experience to demand that sort of money, he was playing NSL not that long ago....

I dont think a forum is a suitable place to thank a club, officials, friends and former team mates anyway....so you dont need to be a scientist to realise that a lot of stuff being thrown around here is tongue in cheek. putting the 'truth' in about downslad is a bit low imo. and im not from the downs.

.......dont leave the farmers out of this equation!!! Its getting like country amatuer footy.......farm shelling out $250 per game to a recent aquisition. Good $$ if you can get it.

Maybe both farm and downs should consider spending some $$ on their grounds and facilities (changerooms)....good bars and well priced drinks tho

I'm not a recent aquistion, I've been at the clubs for a few years now. Plus I'm on far more than $250 per week.

Not sure where your getting this from though? Care to name the player cause its news to me? If there is a guy getting that much he better buy me a drink every week.

We just had an increase in bar prices cause the president there is greedy.

The plans for the clubroom extenstion are been drawn up. Just trying to work out how to pay for it.

The best news is, the slope is staying!!
