Downs 5 - Fulham 1

Great effort by the boys who more than matched the Downs.

Downs went 1 up at about the 20min mark through a Reeves header but after that Fulham showed great character when it would have been easier to roll over and get pumped and I think it would be fair to say defintely had the better of the 2nd half posession wise and chances to score - Downs were defintely rattled.

Unfortunately if you dont score you cant get a result.

Game played in good spirits.
Yeah Fulham played well today Better finishing by both teams would have seem te game come to light. Downs always looked more likely to score, but didn't. Fulham had some good chances but their finishing was ordinary to say the least.

If Fulham had a good finisher they would be up there. Very organized, good structure, plenty of run and desire for the ball. Just can't put the ball in the net.

Cheers for the Fulham boys coming in for a drink after the game.

A's Munno Para 0 - 2 Grove

Not a bad game, just like sparts said, the grove wanted it more than para. Love the crowd support, turning into a good rivalry.

B's Munno Para 2 - 4 Grove

The worst b grade team munno para has put out this year, the big fella who came on as a sub and scored what a superstar, love the celebration big man :D

Ill just say that if the Pumas get the 3 points and thats all we hear about the shambles from sundays game then thats a joke. I think we should atleast get a reply from the league at the headquarters but who knows. All I know is we'll be pursuing this till we find out a definete answer. By the way my last 2 visits to cafe primos have been terrible.

I see the result is 2-0 on the SAASL website. Dont fancy your chances of getting any action from the old boys down at the league. I'm not too sure what they do during the season down there once the rush of registrations is over.... Does anyone know?? Maybe they just recount the money every day.

Great team performance from the Eagles today. Raptors ran all day but really were no match for the Pontians. Great effort from all the lads on the park especially Kosmidis, Karapetis, Petropoulos and Shuffle Stama.

Not a bad effort from a team of has beens and wanna be's

B's: Pontians 2 - Raptors 1
Malavindi 1, Rodi 1

A very hard fought game by both sides today. Very even first half (0-0) Pontians took assendancy in the seconday half with two goals and all the play. Raptors to their credit fought back and pulled a goal back. Good coaching to throw a couple of players forward by the raptors coach which the Pontians failed to deal with well. Raptors also made a couple of clangers infront of goal which cost them in the end. Much better team than their position on the ladder indicates

Great hospitality by the Raptors club... much appreciated

look forward to the return match
Fair wrap up of both game there 13, You guys are a class act no question. Well done.

Raptors boys will hopefully pick up their act in 2nd half of the season after our regulation mid-year slump.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the hospitality, we want nothing less than a pig on the spit for the return leg :)

Disappointing to hear the news out of the Pumas/TTG game. Just to state a difference between what has been posted and the game between Pontians/knights was that at the Pontians game the melee spilled over to the sidelines and from what I can read a Pumas supporter/brother ran onto the field. I think that is a pretty big differance between the two incidents.

Not the best thing to happen in the league especially since we play the Knights this week! Should be another tight and hard game. We know the knights boys will come out pumped and looking to make a point so we will be ready will cool heads and hopefully come out on top!

Vista Vs West Beach - 1-3: The one that got away i believe yesterday for Vista, speaking to their keeper after the game, he believed Vista should have been up 4-5 nil at half time. Simple, basic mistakes cost all three goals, West Beach didn't test our keeper however in saying that, neither did we. Vista's chances should have been converted and if so, the story would have been a lot different. To the credit of the beach, put away their chances, and if they are to be promoted, thats what they need to do. Game was played in fantastic spirit, great banta which is a credit to both clubs. Its funny, the same banta against other clubs is taken personally when all it is is a bit of fun, if only other clubs were there watching, would they have realised the fun atmosphere of the games. Vista's form last 2 weeks has been good, with 3 must win games now for us lads, injuries all over now, full strength side to be put out on the park, upsets on the cards. With Vista, nothing to loose now, i believe promotion is a very outside chance however only being 2 points from 4th, and playing 3 sides above us next 3 weeks, 9 points on offer.

VIKINGS VS KNIGHTS

Post by fruit »

3-5 TO KNIGHTS
FIRST HALF DOMINATED BY KNIGHTS.
WORST REFEREE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.. NOT BIAS - JUST TERRIBLE..
HARD FOUGHT GAME.. VIKINGS SEEMED FUSTRATED TOWARDS THE END OF THE GAME... HAD A MAN SENT OFF WHEN HE GOT A SECOND YELLOW AND GAVE AWAY A PENALTY AND PUT THE GAME OUT OF REACH FOR VIKINGS..
CREDIT TO VIKINGS FOR NOT GIVING UP BUT I THINK IT WAS MORE TO DO WITH KNIGHTS TAKING THE FOOT OFF THE PEDAL AFTER MAKING TWO CHANGES..

Not a pretty game for the a's today, first half we played okay and were 1-0 up at half time but we looked very nervous in the 2nd half trying not to choke on our first win. Croatia were very unlucky in the 2nd half, hitting the post 3 or so times and missing numerous good chances. But after this long without a win we were just happy to take the points.

But similar in a small scuffle turned into a melee due to the actions of others, causing the game to be called off !

Yeh Brooksy played. Was marked out of the game by Wadeo. He still has a good touch but he looked like he'd been grazing in a good paddock for a while. Great to see some of our strikers find the back of the net because the midfield can't continually do all of the scoring.

There's a fair chance of that happening... especially if we're celebrating a title  .....but in saying that, lets not get ahead of ourselves... too many good teams in this league to think the jobs already done.....securing promotion is first priority...

Chestnut, i watched the game from the sidelines and would agree that Vista had chances but i cant recall the WB keeper making any outstanding saves. The WB coach was livid at his teams display in the first half and seemed to get them revved up in the 2nd half, the 3 goals you lost were good goals especially the 1st and 3rd goals. Has your keeper shut his legs yet as i here they are going to divert the GHAN through that tunnel.

"West Beach didn't test our keeper however in saying that, neither did we"

Harry, above is a line from my post stating that we also didn't test Maurice in goals, both keepers didn't really do much at all. 1st goal was a good 1-2 but poor marking up by us, 2nd goal was a good through ball, 3rd goal well taken shot however we know as a team that these goals could all have been avoided if simple marking up had been done, but these things happen, we're all guilty of it during games.........

I saw that aswell Happy just after I posted the comment. I was thinking the same thing cos of how much time had elapsed they'll just give the points to the pumas and be done with it. They obviously can't be bothered trying to sort it all out. The league would have to have a pretty nice bank balance dont you reckon?

Hey i never heard him shouting at me to sub as i was trying to stay focused on the game and the ball. I dont think anyone can complain as i was fair as promised although the WB team are cursing me for a soft penalty against them. I could have given a penalty against Vista for a very strong push on SHREK (your words not mine) from behind, i noticed one or two worried looks from the Vista players at the time, but its a mans game and i tried to let the tackles go as long as they werent dangerous.

I was promised a slab of ale if i gave a penalty where is it.
