lack of support from the league - hit the nail on the head there. if referee complaints were followed up more then maybe you'd have fewer refs leaving... just a thought..

That being said Marooned, he said you were the better team.

But to have a referee who was stoned off his face, that would venture as far as the centre circle, was incompetant as I had ever seen and basically had absolutely no idea what he was doing, was an absolute disgrace to your club.

I saw myself the Reserves referee and it was nothing short of a joke. Opposition teams are training twice a week to play in games like that, and to treat those players the way you did yesterday is an absolute disgrace.

Can I ask what the issue is with one official ref doing both the reserves and first games? It seems that the lower grades or "C" teams are getting refs due to the fact that they kick off earlier, thus allowing a ref to pick up a second game somewhere else at 3pm. Surely if a ref is guaranteed two games at one venue it would be better for them. Is it just a case of if they make a poor decision etc. in the reserves, that tension may flow on to the later game?

The kick off times in Perth are 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Usually referees will do one (or both) of the two earlier slots and then run the line for the first teams. Often the referee of a 11:00am game would then do a 1:00pm game somewhere else (usually around the corner from the first). B's and C's still hand to provide a lineman each.

in Brisbane you get official referees and linesman. I only saw one game in Brisbane without two official linesman and I ended up doing. I'm happy to do it and do it properly than to watch some prat who doesn't know what he's doing, can't be bothered keeping up with the last defender or is just plain biased.

Why you telling me to get over it? you are the one who brought up a topic that had nothing posted on it for over a month!! and I know there is a problem all over, but we have tried to fix up things from where we are, which is about as much as a club can do. One person is not soing to change it for everyone. Perhaps if everyclub concentrated on thier own match days, knowing what was going to happen with the ref, instead of everyone bagging the leauge for not supplying them, game days would not cause this problem.

We can say what we like on these f-orums, as you yourself have done. Im not going to hold it against you. everything always goes both ways. Deal with it!

What did you guys do to fix the ressies if you don't mind me asking. Did u request and offical ref or get an ex one. Not taking the piss here, interested as I played in the game against you guys. The guy that did the first half wasn't to bad. (Although I played for in the C's for a little bit in that game and Peacey fouled me in the penalty area with about 10 seconds to go and he didn't give it. It was only C's though so I didn't care and Peacey had a big grin on his face knowing he got away with it lol.) It was the second guy that we weren't happy with.

That guy that did the 2nd half was that stoned he didn't know he had to make a decision i rekn he thought he could just let the game keep going until any Downs player told him what to do...

Still we were well beaten on the day, having an official referee wouldn't of changed that.

The referee we have in the B's at our home games is as fair as they come so its game on...

Totally agree with you guys, the first half ref was good. but the second half saw him have to attend to first team duties as the manager. and the only person who would put their hand up has obviouly the guy who did it. And I agree with you that that he was very off.

After that game he has not refed a game. and the guy who now does it is very fair, and by the sounds of things similar to your guy in the fact he gives it more against us. He does miss a few thigs, but he does it both ways. Generally does it as he sees it, and not on the appealing.

The other week even sent someone off for swearing at him....

so hopefully things may get better, but it wont be as bad as that second half.

Good to hear Rexie. The guy in the second half I don't think was cheating, he just simply didn't know what was going on. Well done to you guys for having a look at it. I don't ask for B team refs to be perfect because even ours who is imparial makes mistakes.
