So i think Lion finish above us (Flinders) on goal difference. Those forfeits by Parafield Gardens and others hurt us there.
heard a rumour lion may have had a few ring ins for the angkor game, must admit it looked like a different team to the one we played about a month ago, also heard they were terrible v greenock & iggies, then they thump angkor, could be some truth in it but i guess we will never know, but to give them the benefit of the doubt they may of had a heep of injuries & suspensions & they were back for the last game. But if not then how can they feel good about themselves resorting to cheating to go up, if not then i still congratulate them on promotion & certainly deserved it on their performance in the last game v angkor.

The rumor you heard is false. The team was different when we played against Greenock and Old Ignatians. Especially against Greenock where we had 5 players out and some had already played in the B's. Against Angkor on Friday was the first time we had a our full starting 11 together all season. I can provide the team sheet if that will make you feel better. Unlucky to Flinders with their Forfeits. Good work to One Tree Hill, for catching us and keeping us on our toes.

On a side and more important note Congratulations to all the boys from USC Lion on promotion!! Especially after the tough start we had to the year. It was a tough game against Angkor especially in the weather and I thank them for coming out for the Friday night game.

thats fair enough, as i said it could of been due to injuries or suspensions & congratulations again, was certainly a great end to an enjoyable season, was proud of our boys closing the 9 point gap to take it to the final week & hopefully we will give it a shake again next year, good luck in division 3. Also big shout to flinders we had 2 hard fought draws with them, the 5-5 draw at our ground 3 weeks ago was a cracker!!!!

just got to say what a season for Trimmers. Only joined us the week before the transfer cut off. So he only played 11 games i think. to score 28 (?) goals for the season, and climb his way up to the 5th for the player of the year. what a champion player, and what a champion bloke for those who dont know him. got a great head on his shoulders, extremely modest bloke. someone i will definately be welcoming back to the club next season with open arms. was a pleasure playing football with him

When are the league going to update their results page? Just cos the season has finished doesn't mean you stop working.

In fairness to the saasl, some clubs are not real quick in sending their score sheets in, makes it hard for the tables to be finalised.

The referee sends them in, not the clubs. PLUS, don't you have to phone through the scores on the day.

Looks like the final results are in on the website. I'm guessing the rest of the games won't get played, ever.

B's are incorrect. East Adelaide B's forfeited to us last day, so we would be above them (pedantic I know).

Word is Greenock Town have folded. Disappointing they couldn't get a committee together to lead the club.

Who, if any, will fill the void or will there be an odd number of teams in 2013?

Surprising considering they had just appointed a new coach for next year and wanted to organize a friendly :?:

Think you're confusing One Tree Hill with Greenock Town Gooner? Greenock has most certainly folded. I believe most of their players are going to Barossa Utd. Don't know if that means Barossa Utd will stay Sundays or move to Saturdays.

I believe McLaren Districts has been put in the mix and I'm sure they will be very competitive. I would assume there would be no Parafield Gardens side in Div 4 this year either.

Haven't seen anything on the forums from ACU Falcons yet. Are they continuing?

It seems that every year our squad is getting stronger, but at the same time the standard in the division is also getting stronger. Will be no easy games this year.

ACU Falcons will have the one team next season.

Mount Compass also reverting back to one team.

so if these rumours are true, does that mean OTH may go up in 4th spot as there was a vacancy in div 2 which you would presume gets flinders up, then with falcons dropping out in div 3 would make another vacancy in div 3 for us, depending wether the league let the state league teams in or not that they were talking about earlier in the season. Would rather go up on merit though by finishing 2nd as you know you deserve it then & another year in div 4 would do as no harm as we learnt alot last year, but if we get asked to move up im sure we wouldnt say no. Bit concerning see teams dropping out though.

Wouldn't both 3rd place finishing Flinders teams go up a division each if there is a vacancy in Division 2?

Also, Mount Barker have said they want to field one team in Amateurs in 2013, so the div 5 comp would still be reasonably good with Falcons and Compass.

Ill think you find that there is no vacancy in Div 2 but rather only one side will go down.

& i noticed falcons finished bottom so there isnt a vacancy in div 3 as they would be down anyway so we would still be in division 4 which suits us, rather go up in the proper manner anyway.

thats a shame, enjoyed the trip down there last year, best of luck this year with the one team & hopefully you can get back to 2 sides again sometime, must be hard getting players away down there. looks like mclaren districts will be the big away day this year then!
