forgive my ignorance but if we are on 62 points and Milan are on 65 points but have a better goal average than us and we win our next game and they loose their next game we are still second on goal difference.......

Sorry, it was late and I was clearly in a state of euphoria and not thinking properly.

I just noticed Hernanes was on the bench.... why??? ANyone?

Laziale??? Know anything. Bit quiet....

Check out the usual diatribe from this bloke, he never ceases to amaze me - they play fair ALL the time - yeah like Matuzalem stomping on Totti's head in the derby two weeks ago?????

Cavani's penalty was there, had the game been in Rome and that was Sculli, or Zarate they would have done exactly the same thing.

Let's not forget the blatant rugby tackle from Dias at the end that was mysteriously forgotten on Cavani.

The Brocchi thing, well they have every right to fume over it, but we basically gifted one two mins later so thats even.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito raged at Napoli’s 4-3 victory. “We play fair and don’t seek to win at all costs, unlike others.”
The Biancocelesti were leading 2-0 at the San Paolo before the late turnaround, which saw Cristian Brocchi’s shot probably cross the line without being awarded, then Giuseppe Biava sent off for pushing Edinson Cavani in the penalty incident.

“I am very proud of my team, because we are accustomed to getting our results on the pitch and in deserved fashion,” blasted Lotito.

“There were incidents that penalised us. The penalty speaks for itself, while Brocchi’s shot was clearly over the line.

“If things continue with this logic, then we can already predict now who will be in which position.

“We play fair and don’t seek to win at all costs, unlike others. Fair play is not optional.”

Winers are grinners, and losers.......well please themselves!

Love it that Lotito is fuming.....sucked in u piece of laziomerda!

very happy with our second half comeback, Napoli looked like scoring every time we attacked. Defence is still a shambles, Aronica must of been on LAZIO books...

When we went down 2-0, i was dreading another home loss, then BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG!!!

CAVANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

loved the winning goal and the celebration was AWESOME!!!

Fair play to Napoli, got the result, thats all that matters, but fuck me... the Cristian Brocchi goal?!?! Both teams can make a claim they deserved to win, a draw was probably a fair result, but Cavani is a gun.

Hernanes was on the bench because he hasn't been performing of late, Mauri has really stepped up to fill the void.

to have 4 key players out of your starting 11 and score 3 goals at napoli is a fantastic achievement.

to lead 2-0 with half hour to go and lose is not so fantastic.

napoli had 43min-to lazios 29min possession and 6-1 in favour of corners.

the red card was obviously the turning point. send off and goal.

were we fortunate and lazio unlucky? che na me frega!!!!!!!!!!!

like ranieri, reja is a true gentleman of the game. i have the utmost respect for the man.

when he got sent off and walking toward the tunnel he acknowledged the napoli supporters and am sure that he was thinking if im ever going to lose a game like this id be happy it was against his beloved napoli.

if i got to hear one more person come out with the statement.....its milans scudetto to lose im going to scream!

for me today would have to go down as one of the most proudest days of being a nap supporter.

my first ever game at the san paolo was against lazio and it was a 0-2 loss. shattering to say the least.

NON CIA CIRA NESSUNO......NOI SIAMO NAPOLETANI!!!

Edy Reja still can’t believe Lazio’s defeat in Naples. “You can’t score three goals at the San Paolo and lose.”

The visitors were leading 2-0, but fell 4-3 in a dramatic Serie A clash.

“You can’t come to Naples, score three goals at the San Paolo and lose the game,” said the Coach.

“We prepared for the match well, but when 2-0 up we lacked a bit of determination to kill off the match.

“It’s a shame, as the lads took the right approach, although some things need to be looked at in defence.”

It was a special game for Reja, who returned to this stadium for the first time as an opponent after five years taking Napoli from Serie C1 to the top flight.

“My sentiments for this crowd remains intact and it’s very pleasing to see they feel the same way. I thank everyone, it was a game of immensely strong sensations.

“This match was for the Champions League and not everything becomes more difficult.”

Napoli are three points off the top of the table with seven rounds to go.

The last time they were this high was in March 1990, when two points off Milan and went on to win the Scudetto.

The Partenopei have picked up an extra 17 points by scoring second half goals and 13 points by fighting back, resulting in four wins and a draw.

Lazio hadn’t lost at the San Paolo since a 1-0 result on December 22, 1996, picking up two wins and three draws.

Andrea Dossena got his third Serie A goal, but hadn’t scored since Udinese’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus on February 10, 2008.

Edinson Cavani took his top flight tally to 59 goals, his 25th in the current campaign being a new club record for a single season.

Curiously, nine of Cavani’s goals have come in the final 10 minutes.

Lazio have lost three away games on the trot for the first time since May 2009.

Stefano Mauri got his 33rd Serie A goal, the fourth for Andre Dias.

the bottom 4 clubs picked up 3 wins and 1 draw

Lecce W
Cesena D
Brescia W
Bari W

glad we only meet lecce away for now these clubs become dangerous for they need to pick up maximum points and approach their games diffrently to what they would have in the 1st part of the season.

rossi back at the pinkies. i would have liked to have faced them with cosmi still in charge. that guy is so shite. zamparini must be cursing that he has to go back on his word and take rossi back. by all accounts it was miccoli who persuaded rossi to return.

Who is clutching at straws? I was being sarcastic... The linesman made a mistake, just like Aronica did, doesn't mean they getting paid under the table to make the mistakes... :clown:

I did think we had won it up until the last ten minutes. This game has pretty much defined our season sadly, so close to UCL, but I don't think we will get there. Udine should get 4th spot, Napoli will be comfortably third.

Blue Mastiff, Eddy Reja can say what he likes, but we did score 3 goals and we did lose!!! I don't think you can count Hernanes as an out because his form hasn't been what it was only a couple of months, pretty sure there was nothing wrong with him injury wise.

Mauri was immense last night.

After last night, I will have to admit, Cavani is the signing of the season, will be getting snapped up by a bigger club in no time.

Like I said, with you on the Brocchi goal - if that was us I would be losing it.

I think lets be honest and say that Cavani has been the outstanding player in the league this season. His ability to work hard up front, finish, assist and even defend at times has been second to none.

Hernanes for me has been superb, but seems to have dropped off.

Do yourselves a favour and cash in on that little ferret up front - lazy little sh*t he is.

Mauri has been top notch.

Great to see the ovation for Reja last night as well - very sentimental.

Great crowd - I think we would have the 3rd best average in the league.

As for Cavani getting snapped up... I think we will have him for another season - looks like we will play Champions League next year.

We need to pay 14 million euro by June 30 I think. Any offer below 45 million i would not consider if I were de Laurentiis.

The reality is and having spoken to a few rellies, Cavani-mania is not the word. He is huge, bigger than huge, he holds the city in his hand just about now, so Im not so sure he will go anywhere. South Americans seem very at home in Naples.

Great to see Careca at the game last night.

Legend.

He would be useful as a replacement for Lucarelli, who hasn't really worked out for us. Playing in Europe next season (CL or Europa) we will need a decent back up to Cavani.

My only concern would be 'l'ingaggio' - hopefully he doesn't want huge wages.

Expect many thousands of Neapolitans in Bologna this weekend. My mate spoke to his cousin there, who mentioned a figure of 28k, but surely that is an exaggeration since you need the Tessera to get to games. But I think we will still see a huge blue curva in the Dall'Ara this Sunday.

They have already sold 25000 tickets for the Udinese game at home the week after.

I reckon 7-8 thousand will travel.

The Dall'ara would only hold about 30 i reckon.

Goal difference doesnt count in Italy, head to head records do. As such, you guys need to beat us by a point, just like Inter.

Napoli Scudetto better than World Cup

Paolo Cannavaro believes winning the Scudetto with Napoli would be better than lifting the World Cup.

Napoli have only worn the Scudetto on their shirts twice and the last time was 21 years ago.

Walter Mazzarri's side are currently three points off the top with seven games remaining.

“The Scudetto with Napoli's shirt is more beautiful than the World Cup won by my brother.

“It would have a different meaning because the Neapolitans wouldn't forget it.

“It's an extra weapon for this team with respect to Milan.”

after the latest round of fixtures...

napoli still need 3 wins out of 6 to claim an auto euro champions spot.

realisticly milan need 4 wins out of 6 to claim the scudetto.

basically if they win their remaining home games and 1 away game.

that will put them on 80 points, with inter and napoli having a real struggle to catch them.

as a previous post earlier in the season i predicted who would reach 80 points first would win the scudetto.

onto naps game vs bologna.

an excellent 1st half.

viviano what a clown. did anyone tell him thats its not against the rules for the goalkeeper to come off his line and kick the ball out like an outfield player? why do a stupid dive like that and present buckteeth a goal on the platter. anyway i wasnt complaining.

pepe mascaras 100the league goal in his career. congratulations

with the penalty a yellow card was correct for viviano was not the last man.

nap players need to ease up with their celebrations. i know that they have a lot of bottled excitment in them but it only leads to yellow cards and future suspensions.

considering the vicentini referee we have had in 9 occasions and the outcome have been 1 win 5 draw and 3 losses its great to acieve the win.

the napoli hierachy before bologna's game have targeted 79 points to finish the season with basically 5 wins and 2 draws. draws coming vs palermo and juve away. 79 points wont be enough.

enjoy the rollercoaster that is the SERIE A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
