Its history now, much like our 5-0 white washes. Still ranked higher and you're only as good as your last test.God is an Englishman wrote:Cat In The Hat wrote:I think Hawkesy will remember it for years to come, and remind you of it periodically.Bomber wrote:wont go down as one of the more memorable series

Not history - who are the current holders of the Ashes?
Not sure when the next home series is, but an Aussie could watch it in England having a beer knowing he wasn't born the last time Australia won in England.

Q2. Possibly, but consider also how many of the Barmy Army will be having a beer in Oz knowing they were lucky enough to have been around to see a 5-0 belting, and most even luckier to have seen two 5-0's!

Indeed, well done Andrew Strauss, Paul Farbrace and all the back room staff who assisted this hugely talented young England squad, Also a big up to Rod Marsh and fatty Lehmann who it must be said played their part too. "Unapologetic paceman Jimmy Anderson has admitted England doctored pitches during their Ashes upset - and called for more of it in the future."

Good to hear them admit it.

Which Englishmen said the pitch was doctored?
I note Hawksey hasn't admitted to being proven wrong

Re: The Ashes tour 2015
Call me what you want....but can you accept that you were wrong to dispute that an Englishman admitted to preparing doctored pitches?

Then he'd be wrong (that every nation does it). Refer several other of my posts that illustrate this.God is an Englishman wrote:I note Bacon didn't quote the part where he says that every nation does it.

I'm sure one did but you couldn't name him. Feel free to attempt to vindicate yourself now. You've had long enough to think about it.MegaBonus wrote:Call me what you want....but can you accept that you were wrong to dispute that an Englishman admitted to preparing doctored pitches?

You're a classic....
The relevant question isn't who it was said by....it whether or not the English doctored the pitches. What is important is the truth...not how it revealed itself.

Re: The Ashes tour 2015
Here's what he actually said so everyone can now make up there own minds. Pretty much what we have all been saying all along.
Anderson denied that England captain Alastair Cook exerted undue influence on ground staff but said: “We should prepare pitches that suit us. We should have done it more in the past and we should do it more in the future.
When we go to Australia they prepare the pitches to suit their team and when we go to India the same thing happens. A big deal was made that we were telling the groundsmen to do this and that.
I’m sure an opinion was offered but we weren’t saying: ‘You have to prepare this or that’. But even if we did, everyone around the world prepares pitches to give them home advantage and I don’t see why it should be any different here."
