I agree that you'll probably finish 3rd. In the FA Cup.
Nowhere in the league once RVP gets injured.

Nah seriously. Ya think you now might start to realize that the lofty heights in the prem are most definitely premature for you scummy lot
No more excuses if you finish below Arsenal again now!

You should be upset we got knocked out. Far more chance of us challenging for top 4 if we don't have all the Euro games to travel to and worry about.
Only ever played fringe players anyway.

So Cyril, you & your club have ambitions to play CL football again (keeping in mind you could only maintain this for one season) & to do so you put all your eggs in one basket & hope to finish in the top 4 to fulfull this ambition.. Meaning all other competitions you dont 'really' care about winning & as a supporter it doesnt bother you when eliminated (alot like this morning) - sounds like a small club mentality to me!
So lets say (dream) you qualify for the CL next year, will you & your fellow supporters take the same approach & be happy to be knocked out at the UCL group stage?? cause Twitchy had to play fringe players to maintain the challenge to be in the top 4 to continue your ambitions to play in the best club competition in the world - note 15 years straight for us this in hand meaning we have maintained a challenge on all fronts over this period & not having a small club mentality like yours & happy to be knocked out of Europe to focus on our next game in the EPL :?

I would say it's common sense (which would explain why you're struggling with the concept) to prioritise the most important competitions in both prestige and, perhaps more importantly, revenue. CL is worth a shit load so you want to go as far as possible but, unless you've got a really deep squad, it's difficult to get to the later stages and finish in the top 4 to requalify for the following year. The requalification is obviously more important than getting to the semi final and losing.
It's a testament to the squads that the Sky 4 have had over previous seasons (also that the other EPL teams were not as strong) that they've mostly managed to achieve both but someone's going to miss out with Man City being so strong. When we were in the CL last year, I don't think we had the squad to do both and so it was no surprise to see us fail to requalify, but I do think our squad is now stronger and we must be a live chance (no guarantees in football) to finish top 4 again, especially now we don't have mid-week games to worry about. Wait until Robin gets booted up in the air in your next CL game and misses the rest of the season.

So IF your squad is so strong now Cyril why could you not maintain a challenge in the 2nd tier European comp this year...??
As a supporter does this not upset you that you put all your eggs in one basket, that realistically you are 1 in 6 chance to qualify with the big4 & Liverpoo.. what about the other 3 comps..?? your squad is obviously not that strong!

Suggest you check out, what.....19years of tables and see how your lot have fared compared to Arsenal.

Someone on this forum has a sig that says 'Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience', or something along those lines.
You are obviously the one they directed it at

Just like Liverpool and Arsenal fans, living in the past. Just a line in a history book.

Nice response Cyril, deflecting from having to answer the question again... why do you always do this..?? Deep down i bet you are really ashamed of your clubs goals/targets/ambitions & try to put on a happy face with the excuse of squad rotation..??
Wake up Cyril we all rotate our squads!
Lucky you only support a small club like Tottenham as you shouldnt expect much more from that rabble you have

what he's saying is we should now get a few extra points in the league due to not having to worry about the EL
this is more important than winning the EL... UCL next year is the goal this term and we are on course to do it.
sure it would've been nice for the kids to get through and for fringe players like pienaar and krancjar, pav etc to play more. but now we can really give the top 4 a 100% committed attempt

so what do you do next year 'IF' you qualify for UCL..?? How will you survive in two big comps.. Which one will you concentrate on more..?? Keeping in mind the EPL is your main focus.. Once knocked out -use the excuse again of squad rotation or our squad is not big enough or again we are concentrating on the EPL..
Carling Cup is for the kids, qualify for the next stage of Europe then any game after is for the kids. Eurpoean competitions are there to be won, just like qualification the following year is there to be earnt. It seem in the SPUDS world everything in between is a waste of time!

Can't be two decades, it's been almost one since you won anything other than the Emirates Cup
We'll see who's where at the end of the season. Several of my mates are Goon STHs and they're beginning to get twitchy.

Also played the whole time with a budget. Only club debt free and now the investment has turned into a very sound one.
Unlike Tottenham whereby every season is further into the red.
What will be said if we were to win a cup. What will you possibly have to argue against??

Thats right Trimboli deals with all types out his way!
Back onto the SPUDS Cyril.. Still not wanting to respond to my questions.. dont have an answer or just waiting to jump on somebody like the numpty Trimboli & deflect from admitting you support a small club & all you really want is to finally get out of our shadow..& to do this you must finish in the top 4, hence why you put all your effort into the EPL
Your club is a joke, & if your supporters have the same mentality as you & are happy to be knocked out of Europe & all other comps bar the EPL then you deserve all the shite you get from us Gooners

Back in the winning groove and should have put Sunderland away a lot easier.
Lennon's now out for a while and, unless Bale returns, I can't see us beating Chelsea tbh. We really need that pace out wide to give our central players more room and I'd like to see Harry play Townsend in place of Lennon (even though he'd be on the 'wrong' side).

Bale, Defoe & Kaboul should all return to face Chelsea but Lennon is a massive blow for us just when he was starting to hit some form. I think Harry will play Luka on the right and partner Sandro with Parker in the middle although i would like to see either Krancjar or Pienaar out wide with Luka and Parker in the middle. Its a massive game and i hope we win
