Demons have a side in 13C and 15Cgeoff9559 wrote:No am not JD but keeping reading and then thinking of something else....in this case theres u17 u16 u 15 u 14 and u13 listed but not a single junior demons team nominated.....is that because they are in sl2 and dont have to field juniors....and if yes i guess they are playing local to pirie. Anyone know whats happening? Cheers geoff9559

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Cumberland picked up four of Hawks U15's so I'd imagine it's a combined U14/U15 teamgeoff9559 wrote:So no adelaide hills either in pool c......is mt barker picking up from there? Also 2 ffsa teams in pool A.....i havent seen this before. Definitely requires a bit more work as a draft. Personally I'd be keeping birks up in pool a ....not have the second ffsa team. Drop WA to pool c and bring up fulham to u14 pool b. Cheers geoff9559Slide Tackle wrote:14AChocco wrote:could someone please put up the draft teams of 14s A,B and C?

Have draft leagues been done for under 12 JPL, if so can someone post

Especially given Birks finished above the girls........alls fair in love and FFSA it seems

Why not relegate them to 15JPLB and make A and B in 15s 11 teams and 20 game seasons?
Thats right some clubs are untouchable.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
FFSA say 18 games is the ideal number but for the amount of months the season lasts for it works out at 2.5 games a month, not enough. They then give JPL A teams 22 league games + cups games. Assuming JPL A clubs get further in the cup you'll end up with season where some junior teams play every week and others hardly at all. The U13, U14 and U15 leagues are heavily weighted to JPL A teams getting all the games.bigpond wrote:Blue Eagles finished 2nd bottom in 11 team 14A JPL last season but stay up?Pie and Bovril wrote:Metrostarsfball12 wrote:Can someone please post U15 JPL A teams?

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
The ffsa arent making sense.....if 18 is optimum then why go for 12 team pools in seniors and juniors? Yes a rhetorical question but if 18 is what they reckon is best you'd think that they would be opting for 10 team pools across the board. But then 18 games isn't really enough to develop and build on match fitness for future years and for overall competitiveness. Cheers geoff9559

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
If you look at the leagues tables from this past season, a lot of matches did not get played towards the end of the season, due to pitch issues caused by wet weather.
So realistically, if clubs couldnt play all their matches within the season, how are they going to accommodate more matches?
Until the majority of clubs have artificial pitches, clubs wont be able to cope with so many matches.

Based on last year this should be an even/interesting league. Player movements over the off season may have an impact for some teams but I think overall every game will be tough.

We played 21 league games last Season without an issue.BeNatural wrote:If you look at the leagues tables from this past season, a lot of matches did not get played towards the end of the season, due to pitch issues caused by wet weather.

I agree with the others on here who say 18 games is not enough. These kids start training in January/February until the season runs until end of September. That means on average they play every other week.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Maybe its time for a Summer League?
Or maybe more official 7-a-side summer competitions run by the FFSA?
Or maybe more players should look to Futsal in the off season to fine tune their skills on a smaller scale?

Why are they allowed to play over age players in the first place? They should play in the spot they earn, this year that's pool B.geoff9559 wrote:Is this right with the ffsa team in pool b? I was lead to believe that they were always pool a.Slide Tackle wrote:13A

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
FFSA U15 girls team played in the U13 JPLA last year and finished 2nd bottom. That's a team with girls two years above the age group. FFSA are making sure that doesn't happen again.God is an Englishman wrote:that's rather sexistPie and Bovril wrote:Because they're girls

Are these league replicated for the JSL teams?
Same teams in same leagues for same age group? if not can someone tell me the JSL U14 set up?
Cheers

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
JSL is a bit later, JPL nominations are first and then they might have nominated just recently for JSL so those pools wont be known for awhile
Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Stand corrected. ....stephen toth used to have them out at different times from memory i guess this has changed under Alex or whoever is running juniors.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
why would you put sturt lion 2 teams and Cumberland 2 teams in the same group, surely they will play inter club trials against each other often enough. better to put 1 sturt team and 1 Cumberland team in the other group.
notice no Croydon, no White City, no west Adelaide etc.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
JSL is a community league with no promotion/relegation. The structure is based on zone locations (Fulham being the exception).Chocco wrote:why would you put sturt lion 2 teams and Cumberland 2 teams in the same group, surely they will play inter club trials against each other often enough. better to put 1 sturt team and 1 Cumberland team in the other group.

FFSA teams always go into A div, it won't be changing
