No, as an adult you should control yourself and set and example at a "junior" game...grumbly wrote:Sigh. Are we supposed to clap politely when there's blatant (read bloody obvious) cheating?

RESPECT all officials, including the parent that runs the line every blue moon.

Well said!
Even though Ive played/coached/supported the game for many years I dread having to run the line... not because I don't know the rules, its having to put up with the crap and verbals from those that don't (ie; "its not a contact sport buddy" from the Salisbury coach a few weeks ago)[/quote]
It's a tough gig! I was yelled at, belittled, abused at a junior match for flagging offside 3 times for a NO:9 that obviously didn't understand the offside rule. I was then congratulated after the match by the same person (coach) for running the line well ??? Future rounds I will have a coffee in hand rather than the flag. Why would anyone want to go through this on a Sunday morning whilst your own child on the field watches & can hear their father being abused. No thanks !

Thought this needed to be highlighted, everyone should remember this next time you want to be a loudmouth at a kids gameRedStar wrote: Why would anyone want to go through this on a Sunday morning whilst your own child on the field watches & can hear their father being abused. No thanks !

The ground marshalls should be doing their job properly and telling parents to be quiet on the sidelines
Re: rd 4 results
Im sure we can all take a bit of abuse, I dont know any parent been bashed for doing a poor job at running the line.
All parents should be following the club code of conduct and clubs must enforce them.
We are all doing it for our kids end of the day, lets all enjoy supporting the kids play rather than chace glory

Should do but maybe we should be able to control ourselves at a Junior game, that makes more sense to me.The ground marshalls should be doing their job properly and telling parents to be quiet on the sidelines
Everyone is looking to blame someone else these days....It's the Linesmans fault for cheating, It's the Refs fault for not watching the game properly, it's the Marshals fault for not controlling me and my loud mouth...

Correction, I am not seeking to blame anyone, but there are always loud mouthed parents in any sport. However there are also mechanisms to deal with them. If they will not shut up, then the ground marshal for that team should be telling them to stop. If the parent continues, then the club has to deal with it.
On the flip side, the opposing club can also lodge an incident report then the FFSA can send a 'please explain' which will force the club to sort out their parent and if necessary, ban him from attending games. Maybe by taking such steps the parent will realise what a dick he is making of himself.

that's disappointing to hear because the Incident Report is designed exactly for this purpose.

Seriously.....I enjoy coming on here to read what's happening but honestly if by under 17s these parents are still at the club...well maybe they should have been weeded out as I am sure the are probably an embarrasment to the other parents, the club and a total disgrace to themselves. As far as decisions made by volunteers please please GET OVER YOURSELVES we've all seen major league clubs miss out on titles because of questionable decisions. Thankfully that was not the case in this game, it didn't impact on the result so just move on. Maybe the should allow linesman to wear riot gear.......
