so people want 3 weeks of training to be cancelled, then you'll wonder why you're not producing any young talent.

Not forgetting when Adelaide United are playing at home, Mothers Day, Greek Orthodox Easter, it's raining, it's too hot, it's all the way out at Burton........etc.etc.God is an Englishman wrote:so people want 3 weeks of training to be cancelled, then you'll wonder why you're not producing any young talent.Con M wrote:Tuesday 4th June 2013 away to Japan in Tokyo 7.30pm? Honestly, why bother playing at all.
Time for some righteous indignation

No, don't exaggerate & refer to earlier post "..if it comes down to a last nerve-shredding game against Iraq.."Stitch This wrote:Not forgetting when Adelaide United are playing at home, Mothers Day, Greek Orthodox Easter, it's raining, it's too hot, it's all the way out at Burton........etc.etc.God is an Englishman wrote:so people want 3 weeks of training to be cancelled, then you'll wonder why you're not producing any young talent.Con M wrote:Tuesday 4th June 2013 away to Japan in Tokyo 7.30pm? The rest of the dates were merely mentioned for any disinterested parties to note if they didn't know of them. OK, should have I mentioned exemptions for Mr Millwall, Stitch This & 99.9% of FFSA clubs, SAASL clubs & junior teams who will train regardless?

Not that it is at all likely, but if son of hawkesy had training at the same time the Millwall semi was on (and dad had to take him), I wonder what would take precedence?

I'd go to Millwall and take him with me, but that's my choice. Not forcing others to do it. Luckily, I have a joint coach to take training.

Glad your not letting facts get in the way of your story, as already highlighted, we were talking about the last 'deciding game', I note you answered honestly and said you'd choose to watch the game.God is an Englishman wrote:Con M wrote:Tuesday 4th June 2013 away to Japan in Tokyo 7.30pm? Yes, and I also said it was my choice not FORCING clubs to do other things. Why should the FFA have any say in what nights clubs train on?
If an individual coach decides to do it then fair enough, but a whole club/league shouldn't be forced to do so.
Re: The nightmare scenario for Shockeroos
Mate the line was "clubs should make an exception" no-one is suggesting the FFA or FFSA should force anyone, I believe most clubs will change or modify training if it's a decider,I certainly wouldn't take my son to training if it is

He will when I tell him he's dropped if he doesn't turn up

No, some things are more important than an under 10 State League game against GawlerGod is an Englishman wrote:Knight15 wrote:Mate the line was "clubs should make an exception" no-one is suggesting the FFA or FFSA should force anyone, I believe most clubs will change or modify training if it's a decider,I certainly wouldn't take my son to training if it is

Re: The nightmare scenario for Shockeroos
and you think a 9 year old will think like that when he's on the sideline watching his mates play.Knight15 wrote:No, some things are more important than an under 10 State League game against GawlerGod is an Englishman wrote:Knight15 wrote:Mate the line was "clubs should make an exception" no-one is suggesting the FFA or FFSA should force anyone, I believe most clubs will change or modify training if it's a decider,I certainly wouldn't take my son to training if it is

Re: The nightmare scenario for Shockeroos
Probably not, but he will learn 2 lessons, firstly there are so many small minded people who believe their training is beyond compare and missing a session or leaving early simply to watch a deciding World Cup qualifier would incur being benched. Secondly that sometimes a parent makes a choice for a child that the child doesn't agree with at the time, however when they get a bit older, they would certainly agree

Hopefully, he'd also learn that when you make a commitment you don't just walk away because a better offer comes along.

Why bring your ex-wife into it?God is an Englishman wrote:Knight15 wrote:Probably not, but he will learn 2 lessons, firstly there are so many small minded people who believe their training is beyond compare and missing a session or leaving early simply to watch a deciding World Cup qualifier would incur being benched.
