Re: Gareth Bale.....
The record books say 2-1 to wales & Bale was the man .
good luck to the haters, he has more skill in his 'dives' than you have in your body GIAE.
Maradonna won a World Cup cheating, Armstrong won 7 TDFs.
reality is ....they're all doin it !
Doesn't make it right, just reality.

says it all!
and when maradona was caught cheating - they banned him
when armstrong was "caught" - they banned him and took his titles away.
So, when Bale is "caught" they should be retrospectively booking him for it. You can't change the result but you should be able to be punished for it.
Re: Gareth Bale.....
Lol at anyone trying to defend that. It's another dive, plain and simple.

Strange then that the Scottish defender came out and publicly said that he'd made contact unintentionally.BowTiesAreCool wrote:Lol at anyone trying to defend that. It's another dive, plain and simple.

Clever.
If we're claiming contact alone constitutes a foul then what's all this uproar about diving?

The old deliberate simplification argument heh? I would never have said that. The Kop wrote:Clever.

Contact from behind whilst you're running must, by definition, be an invalid attempt to get the ball, since there's a player in the way, therefore contact from behind is a foul. Ergo, you get clipped from behind and fall over theatrically, I don't like the exaggeration but it's still a foul.
The dives are the two we saw from Bale and Suarez last week.

How you think that a slight brush against his back results in him hitting the floor like he's been shot in both ankles.Nice One Cyril wrote:What would you like me to explain to you?BowTiesAreCool wrote:Refuse to believe you're this dim.Nice One Cyril wrote: Strange then that the Scottish defender came out and publicly said that he'd made contact unintentionally.

Re: Gareth Bale.....
It's irrelevant how much contact there was. Don't challenge from behind. Simple.BowTiesAreCool wrote:How you think that a slight brush against his back results in him hitting the floor like he's been shot in both ankles.Nice One Cyril wrote:What would you like me to explain to you?
As it happens, the defender said that he'd clipped his heels, so Bale's perfectly entitled to fall over.

Re: Gareth Bale.....
Almost a winner, but I would differentiate between exaggeration and an out and out dive. Neither are desirable IMO, but the former is at least not cheating.God is an Englishman wrote:Nice One Cyril wrote:The old deliberate simplification argument heh? Shaun Maloney wrote:“It wasn’t a challenge as such, he just ran across me and part of his legs touched mine. I don’t think he dived. It was just a coming together.
“I haven’t seen it again but I have to be honest – my gut feeling was that he didn’t dive. I’m pretty sure I didn't put a challenge in but I think there was some contact.

I would love to see a definition for the word "dive". To me if the contact isn't enough to actually knock you over then it's a dive.Nice One Cyril wrote:Almost a winner, but I would differentiate between exaggeration and an out and out dive.
