Vale vs East

Cs
0-2

Bs
4-3

P.Williams, D.Nichols x3

Vale 3-0 down at half time with 2 of Easts goals very well taken. I dont think we created a clear chance in the first half and East deserved to go in to the break with a lead. 2nd half was completely opposite.... we scored early, Pommy Paul getting in behind the defence and finishing with power, and got a bit of wind in our sales. Created a few more half chances and started finding a few holes in the East defence. The coach made an inspired substitution with about 15mins to go    which almost paid off instantly with the east keeper making a good save with his feet after a bit of a scramble in the 18yrd box. Another scramble on the goal line from a corner saw us get another one back with a simple header, for Daniel Nichols, from 2yrds out. Our lads started to push hard for the draw and were rewarded with the equaliser, from a free kick which was placed perfectly on the head, again of Daniel Nichols, at the back post. With fire in the belly our lads wanted 3 points bad and pushed again, putting pressure on easties and when the ball fell invitingly for the on-rushing Daniel Nichols, he composed nicely from the top of the 18yrd box and volleyed perfectly into the bottom corner of the goal to send us 4-3 up and the crowed into raptures. East very unlucky not to equalise late on when one of their players hit one from distance which had Rosco beat but, luckily for us, rattled the crossbar and flew back into play. Great heart shown by our lads today and 3 points well earnt in the end!

2-0

What a frustrating day today for the East! Its probably one of the best games we have played this year - and we have played well in most. We totally outplayed vale imo and we just couldnt find the net. Credit to vale as they took their chance. We continue to just have a combination of errors and not taking our chances. very frustrating to be down the bottom, but its a bloody tough league.

As for the paying crap....... god!!! why does this need to be brought up every year. Who cares!!! clubs pay and what they are prepared to pay is their business. Its pretty well known who are the big payers and the rest can just do their own thing.

No sour grapes just saying it cost you winning every week and with 15 on a team sheet with a minimum of $100 a game a few on more than that coaches and support staff it will cost you about $50k ... Im not complaining about the Mongs paying for it at all I know what it cost's and it's hard to come up with those dollars especially after getting robbed by one of your own.

Went out to watch the Gardens take on the Downs today,

Ebomo's theatricals a disgrace to himself and his club,

A Lindsay and S Brennan made the entire Gardens team look very ordinary,

Overall a training drill for the Downs, even with ten men.

steve10 what a load of s--t he is far from a disgrace to our club you :clown:. the mongs played well but we also had a few chances and aldridge pulled off some great saves. The downs are the best side in the comp and will win the league but we will fight for second and try to win the cup. I personally thought all 3 games were very entertaining and i look forward to the return leg. training drill my fu-king arse!

Just goes to show how weak Sunday division really is..... When the 5th placed understrength Saturday Div1 side only lost to the Downs 3-0. A ten man Downs beat Gardens 2-0

Great win for the Downs today. They are looking good and deservably so appear odds on for the title. But they are beatable, Especially now with a possible suspension or two on the horizon.

Red card was a certainty and steve10 needs to take his rose coloured glasses off and have look at Paully's leg right now. If he did he wouldn't make statements like this.
