Well, look at this season's results so far: Two losses out of two games, with a losing streak of something like 21 games.
It is an embarrassment. Especially when the core of the team remains unchanged. It seems like we're stuck in a downwards spiral because each season we just can't get it right!
When considering why we perform so poorly in comparison to other teams, you need to remember that we have such a small population.
Since we have such a small football community, the politics outweighs the talent. It is very much the case of who you know not how well you can play.
Think about it, who is putting pressure on the top (premier league) coaches to put on their best 11? If they aren't doing this, what chance does the Adelaide women's team have of putting their best team together?
Everyone already knows we need to majorly restructure football selections and identification methods in this state. We need to get rid of the people at the top of this hierarchy in order to progress.
This is not such a big problem in other states because of having such a large soccer community, so there is pressure on the coaches and football federations to put the best players on the park not the most well-known players.
There is also no effort being made to keep talented players around. Unlike the men, women don't get paid which is the biggest load of bull. There is an incentive for men to pursue playing soccer as a career, but, besides playing for fun, what's the incentive for women??
As players get older, they realise that playing soccer is not a feasible career choice and drop out. This is another way in which we lose talented players.

The results may not show much but the team have been playing better which is important. This season I wouldnt read too much into the scorelines, it is a very young team
Re: W-League team announced
Are you for real....THE W LEAGUE (AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE) IS NOT THE PLACE TO SIT BACK AND WATCH KIDS PLAY. Its for the top end experienced players. Not for us to sit back and say "oh well they're kids...so the results are ok!!"
Not on

Re: W-League team announced
Interesting comment re young players and W- League because going back to Adelaide Sensation days, there were many young 16 year olds, albeit perhaps a few more experienced players and a number of players of the ilk of Cheryl S, Di A . a young Lisa D, Collette Mc, and a few others in different seasons. B ut u will notice that many of those 16 year olds no longer play or have not made themselves available. Now is the time for patience. People must continue to have a positive outlook. Yes there are a couple of players who are more Senior who made themselves available who maybe should have been selected. Playing W-League for AU especially is a huge committment so lets not knock the players in the squad.
