Talent is talent is talent. Any selector worth their salt would be able to see it and recognise it for it's merits. And that is where some need to think outside the square, look to other clubs and not rely on their favourites when it comes to selections. Come to an Adelaide uni game, come to other Prems and Div 1 games and see what is out there to select from. Better for Rach getting a full game and being involved in a club which promotes strength through it's juniors than stepping out of the league all together.
There were trials down south this year for some southern district rep league or other. The coach had all ready rung up a few players who did not even have to trial to say they had made the team. What message does that send to the girls that attend all tryouts?n Not much really.

its juniors??

they steal juniors from other clubs every year by making outrageous promises and harassing the girls that make state every year.
they know they cant develop a side capable of winning, so they have to take from others.

Well hey you must have confidence in your juniors when you have a pre printed t-shirt to wear when you win the cup final stating the same!

Sad but true, a few clubs "approach " players from other clubs, and dangle the "you will be part of a Championship team" or, " you will have more chance of making the state team " carrot if front of players, rather then spend time developing their own players.

If a player comes to you because they are not happy at their present club,or cant handle playing in the big league,or was playing in a lower division and wants to try their luck in a higher grade, that is a different story.
Unfortunately there are a few coaches who "assemble" rather then develop sides, and want all the credit for "developing" the side at the end of it.
