Maybe everyone doesn't adore AUFC

Last time I checked it's not an AUFC supporters only forum

So no need to tell them to 'F OFF'

I'm sure anyone that is interested can find all the SA junior teams results.......

So what happens now, does Futsal in this state continue on as they have in the past, go away for 10 months, come back and play a 9-10 week comp, pick state teams, parents pay $1500, and then the kids go over just to make up the numbers.......year after year after year

Or does someone take the sport by the scruff of the neck in SA, try harder and get all year round junior comps going, giving the kids and coaches the opportunity to improve quicker to then be able to compete at a higher standard at the nationals ?

its pathetic i know. im sure it wouldnt be hard to start of slow and get each super league club to put 1 team into an all year comp and build on that.

Why is it also the junior teams up to the youth women and men pay full price and the price of the open mean is subsidized at $600?

We also need to set up all year round competitions, no point in selecting teams 3 months before the nationals and then start training 2 months before the nationals. Things take time to gel and this was proved by the results of all SA teams that went over to Canberra this year

I've heard the men get sponsored, in order for them to pay less, and subsequently have a stronger team as people are not being put off by the price. But it doesn't look like that worked too well.

DDMC and a few others have sponsored all the SA futsal teams for few years, but so they could take more players
and be more competative in the open mens they added extra costs to the younger teams to pay for the men
and all the " support staff ",

Well, do we think its about time that 'junior' futsal was taken more seriously in SA, and more time and emphasis and all year round comps for juniors, and maybe pull the plug on the senior all year round comp to cater for a junior comp if there is a lack of 'facilities', like I keep hearing is the problem in SA

Seriously, there is an all year round comp for men, and look at the youth men and mens final standings.......................

I enjoyed my experience in playing for S.A Open Mens team. The competition is of a really high standard and i thought we competed well, beating the finalists and scoring a number of goals. The Futsalroos coach spoke to our squad and was happy with our technical level and our intensity, however he conceded that we were far behind tactically and he gave an hour of his time to talk about the game. He was very knowledgeable and the boys really appreciated him coming to talk to us.

Tony Scalzi did exceptionally well with the u13 girls, reaching the semi finals. Youth Men and Women were poor.

Well said! They need to start training earlier or if they want to keep the same team start training at least once a week from June, but this may be hard with most players training 3 times a week with their outdoor teams

Tony Scalzi did a great job, Richard Stabile did well with the 15 girls. Boffa, Fusco and Reeves not bad. The rest would be disappointed in the impact they had on the team.

I feel like giving up playing in the nationals to coach a team to make it worth it for the kids.

How many nationals have you been to buddy? And how many titles have you won for SA?
The comp in the open mens was of a very good standard this year compared to last year. I caught up with Steve Knight since last february when i was with the futsalroos he was impressed with our technical ability.

I understand why you are being critical of the coaches but until you coach at a nationals then you have more of an idea of what is involved.

Hey GK1 - do not worry, getyourheaddown has now posted this same comment in 3 other posts!! That's all he can achieve!! Bet he has never had the National Coach come up to his team and talk to him and his mates about how they perform!!

I agree, I don't think we should be critical of any of the coaches or players and 'rate' them

But I think Futsal in SA, especially junior Futsal, needs 'someone' to take it by the scruff of the neck, bite the bullet, and give the kids an opportunity to play more of it, which will only improve them to be able to compete at a national level

Agree, a much improved performance from 2010. A couple of teams in the Semi's and one in teh Q/F's, U/16's and U/14's unlucky not to make the Semi-Finals. Most teams appear competitive?

Before you make any assesments on the teams/coaches you really need to compare the results from the previous year. You must be talking about SP's u/15 team- that didnt win a game last year.It was a good bunch of lads, unfortunately the coach was clueless, even kept some players on the bench for nearly the whole tournament. Some good changes to coaches and Managers this year and seems better results.

I agree where this clown is coming from to an extent but coming on a public forum slagging coaches of junior teams is probably not the right thing to do.

The other thing is how can you determine whether you have done well or not without goals and targets set by the committee. For example you want all teams to advance to the next round of the competition or you want 3 teams to make the final in their age group.

Be aware the NSW won 14 of the 16 titles on offer last week. The ACT were not happy as they expected more of their teams to make the finals in each of their age groups.

I ask again how many titles have you won for SA?

i am not the one slagging coaches GK1 that is comong from jim.

i have made an assessment based on performance and results if you or the coaches have a problem with that then the coaches should not be in the job in the first place and you should join the committee there needs to be some serious changes to be made for this state to go forward.

What makes you qualified to make a judgment on the performance of others? Did you go to the championships and see the teams play? What futsal team have you coached? Have you coached at the championships and, if so, what team did you take?

Getyourheaddown, lets see if you really have the balls to match your mouth is or if you are all hot air.

Sorry buddy, unless you where in Canberra last week you only made a judgement based on results. I don't have a problem with you making a "judgement" maybe there does need to be changes will you put your hand up?

And you are conveniently avoiding my last question. How many national titles have you won for SA?

I also agree with you getyourhead down. Changes do need to be made, this needs to come from the FFSA. Futsal SA appears to be trying with the limited support/resources it has.

I was trying to make the point that some changes to some poor coaches & administrators etc were made last year and the indication is that the results are better. The best examples are the u/14 boys and u/16s where the new coaches made improvements on previously underperforming teams. Please correct me if im wrong but the the u/16s didnt even win a game last year? Surely Futsal would be happy with the big improvement with the performance of these teams and they have to be rated as a success? With more experience to the new coach, further improvement in the squad, the 14's may be a title challenger next year?

I understand no one is paid, everyone is trying, but Futsal needs to continue with removing and refreshing the coaches, managers and administrators for next season. If they do this, the trend can only be positive.
