Tell me this wasn't handball in the box and probably what will prove to be a defining moment in the relegation battle...right in front of the ref too. I guess if I was 100 years old i'd fail to see it too...

Yeh was a clear handball, but it's all in the past now.
Honestly, if this is the best the SAASL can serve up for Premier League matches then it's quite funny. Exactly WHAT do you pay extra for when going up the divisions? A bigger ego? Older refs? S
Simple. You pay more - you receive more.
I've seen better much better refs in the lower divisions.

Vipers were doomed from the start when 'Barnacle Bill' was appointed for game.
I'm still in disbelief about early send-off of Viper player in 1st half. A Nothing incident and a delayed whistle to boot.
If it wasnt from the subtle appeal from Villa tech area, then perhaps things would've been different.
Hearing aid technology obviously a lot more advanced than optical I'd say....

Re: Saturday Results 21 August 2010
The ball was in his hands for so long that our players had time to appeal and someone to get their camera and take a photo of the whole thing!!
Ridiculous decision!!

Doesn't tell much tbh. How far away was the ball from him when kicked? Where was he looking? Surely you've been involved with the game long enough to realise ball to hand does not instantly make it a penalty (or free kick even)Lucas Leiva wrote:Tell me this wasn't handball in the box and probably what will prove to be a defining moment in the relegation battle...right in front of the ref too. ps. not saying it wasn't, just that a still photo isnt enough to "prove" and give you licence to ref bash

I had trouble defining their tech area, could the Vipers Club Marshall clarify this pleasekolobaras wrote:Vipers were doomed from the start when 'Barnacle Bill' was appointed for game.

Maybe I should become a ref because buggered if I can see a ball in that photo :?Mato wrote:Doesn't tell much tbh. How far away was the ball from him when kicked? Where was he looking? I did see it live though and as an "interested observer" it was a hand ball

Q. Am I able to yell out 'mine', 'my ball' or 'leave it' whilst the game is in play?

A. If you want to. But ref may award a free against you if it impedes someone else and ref hears it.crue head wrote:Q. Am I able to yell out 'mine', 'my ball' or 'leave it' whilst the game is in play?

Re: Saturday Results 21 August 2010
Funny that, because I had a chat to the referee after the game on the weekend and he was adamant that it is within the rules and it is acceptable.Bomber wrote:A. If you want to. Perhaps in 1933!?
I should point out though, kudos to Salisbury Villa, each time we head up there we always have a great contest and we are well looked after once the game is over.

Some refs are picky on that you call a name for it. When I was in Perth referees almost always penalized not using a name, but the only time I really recall seeing it been done here was when we played at Mount Barker last season.crue head wrote:Q. I've observed that in the past too and referees have also said the same thing.crue head wrote:and we are well looked after once the game is over.

It should of been wrapped up by now!
if the game was not called off.
but dont worry stirling boys, even if the game has to be played after round 18, AV WILL FIELD THEIR STRONGEST SIDE!
We dont want to "give away" 3 points to them now!

All of the Villa regulars will be locked in the changerooms anyway so they will have no choice!
And if that doesn't work well we will just bribe them with beer and slappers

There will always be a spot for you at Vipers, no matter which division we are in.LUFC wrote:Great to see the Vipers heading back down.

According to a few blokes from BOSA that's all you were good for
Re: Saturday Results 21 August 2010
I've got no left foot, can't control a ball to save my life, and couldn't score a goal that wasn't with my head if I was 4 yards out.
I'd still walk into the first 11 at Vipers.

Sorry we don't have any junior teams for you to get a run inLUFC wrote:

But we may be starting up a womens team, since you play like a girl you'd fit right in
