Almost crunch time now.

Every match has a connotation!

VIPERS v ADEL WANDERERS - a win to either team gets them out of the relegation zone
ST PETERS v STURT MARION - whoever loses could still get sucked back into the relegation dogfight, the winner is safe
BOSA v MOD JETS - BOSA need to win to keep pressure on AV, Jets win would practically guarantee safety
ADEL VILLA v ADEL UNI (1) - AV win and they are 6 points from the title. Uni need a win with Vipers and Wanderers playing each other, or could find themselves bottom.
SALS VILLA v STIRLING - SV would have to be safe, appear to be playing for nothing now (3rd?). Stirling win would practically guarantee their safety.

Soccerman, what do you mean by that comment.... if anything he wouldn't be too happy seeing the Wanderers at the bottom of the table.

I assume you mean Vipers.

And yes, we are, but as Benny Cousins says, 'Such is Life'

Adelaide Villa are in big trouble....of winning the title.

(Der, I meant Vipers. Only three coffees so far this morning.)

FWIW I would like both Uni and Vipers to stay up, I have friends at Uni, and Vipers in Div One will make the forum interesting (as long as they are winning), and could mean the whole Vipers club at Glenunga on matchdays if the league works out the fixtures right.

Also FWIW would like to see MA Hawks or Comets promoted too, as that would mean another 'C' team can come up as well and therefore make home matchdays more meaningful.

If both stay down, and we go down, then a few more Greek derbys!

It should depend on why the game is postponed. Waterlogged pitches I can understand but something like the kick off time doesn't suit you ... then yeah pfft.

Vipers good as gone.Stirling look to be in a bit of strife(although with a game in hand and Villa already having secured the title, should give them some hope)Uni's result today was definitely eye catching, tough game against a resurgent wanderers on the final day.Modbury have been sucked into it as well. Some cracking games to look forward to next week!!!

Yep.... :(

In "my" opinion though it was a learning year and much has been learnt from the experience in the top div.

The club has done very well over the 4 years since its inception and will only get stronger.

We have a good group of lads and some very commited people that run the club.

Go Vipers :D

A. Villa 36pts (+34) - game in hand
Bosa 31 (+13)
Wanderers 23 (+7)
S. Villa 23 (-16)
Sturt 22 (-5)
SPOC 22 (-5)
Jets 20 (-7)
Uni 18 (+3)
Stirling 18 (-14) game in hand
Vipers 15 (-7)

Vipers v Adelaide Villa
Stirling v St Peters
Modbury v Sturt Marion
Salisbury Villa v BOSA
Uni v Wanderers

Vipers need a 10 goal win. Stirling and Uni have winnable games. Modbury need a win to guarantee safety. Stirling could still finish as high as third

Forfet the 10 goal win, back to Division 2 for us.

Another season of drama at Viperland, we're yet to stay in the same division for more than one season, but this season we go down.

These things happen, we as a club, need to rebuild and come back bigger and better for 2011.

is this correct?

Code: Select all

Modbury 17 -6 20
Stirling 17 -13 19
Adelaide Uni 17 +3 18
Vipers 18 -12 15
Vipers are down, with one of the other three to join.

This week it is:
Adelaide Uni v Wanderers
Stirling v St Peters
Modbury v Sturt Marion
gone

Well, well, well soccerman - good prediction dickhead!!! For the record, Ralph and anyone else who has moved on are always welcome back to the club.

And as for that Totti wanker who said Wanderers would fold and shouldn't have left the Collegiate League - time for another tug you imbecile!!!

Great fighting spirit from the lads this year to possibly finish third, good luck this week lads and for 2011!!!

Since playing Adelaide Villa in Rd 12, Wanderers have won 4 out of 5 - 3 of those wins were away (Bosa 3-1, Vipers 6-3 & Sturt 7-2), scoring 19 goals in those 5 matches.

Big credit to the boys, knowing it could be relegation if we had a bad result & to step up and finish well - a few of the B's from last year & this year have played in the A's and done the job when it counts.
The coach (Joe Larecki) also has had the boys fit all year (with the exception of the injured players) and has held us in good stead for the final rounds...

Villa consistent as always, congrats on the title and we look forward to another close battle again next season...
