I could have out run Gareth Barry last night, that was some of the worst defending (south Korea I think showed the worst piece of defending saturday night) to be seen at a world cup, embarassing.

England were down 2-1 at half time and controlled the opening 10 mins of the second half. Came out the same way they would of if they have goine in 2-2.

There's no doubting Italy were awful. It was a deserved early exit after some rubbish football played. However personally, and from the thoughts of many Italian fans and pundits, this team was not going to go far. Should have gone further than what it did, but it probably would have played only one game extra. On the other hand this was an English team installed as third favourites IIRC, with all these world class players, etc etc, and they are still waiting after 44 years of nothing. That is the funny part.

Although England got further then Italy, Italy still played and plays far better football on the eye than the english. The english style of play is very ugly and unattractive and they deserved a 4-1 thumping form the Germans. Italy at least dominated 2 of their three group games for minimal results and were ulnulcky in the end not to get the draw which would of seen them through.

because how pretty the football is decides how far you get in a tournament. Fact remains, we got further than them. Domination means fuck all if you don't capitalise on it.

Well at least i have managed to watch Italy win a world cup in my life time so far unlike Greece!
At the end of the day Italy, Greece and England are all out of the world cup. So what neither of the three countries won it. At the end of the day though Greece and Englands international world cup records combined comes no where near to that of Italy's so you can both shut the hell up. I think all of you anti Italian supporters are so happy that the italians are gone because youse know that if Italia got through the group stage they would have been in serious contention to go quite far unlike the english and greeks who just played crap full stop.

There was with nothing wrong with the way Italia played this world cup, they just lacked conviction and poise infront of goal. If they could have converted even 10 percent of the chances they created they would have got out of their group quite easily and pushed on far into the tournament. The same cannot be said for the English who just played rubbish football all along and you know it. To be honest I was actually disapponted in the way the English played and expected and wanted to see a lot more "good" football form them.
