Looking at the stadium, I thought the game was between Sunshine George Cross against Mooroolbark in suburban Melbourne.

It's six, not 11 as someone else suggested. Used to be unlimited up until about seven or eight years ago. I think FIFA changed it not long after Sven Goran Eriksson subbed the entire English team at H/T against Australia in a friendly in 2002.
Speaking of subs, I thought Holman played pretty much his best game for Aus tonight off the bench. Valeri, Jedinak and Beauchamp were solid as well. Vidosic was ok too, though not sure why he was on the right and Culina on the left after he came on. Carney was pretty crap - as always - for mine. I see big problems if Chippers picks up an injury or is suspended for one of the group games. Carney just doesn't cut it at this level, at least not as a LB. Would like to have seen Ruka come on for Kennedy at H/T, but I guess then we would have missed 'Jesus' performing his miracle of scoring a goal with his foot! lol

Aussies certainly are difficult to watch.
Mind you I have to say Holman played his best 45 mins in green and gold.

Get used to the bore fest and defensive tactics...it's all Pim knows. Results are what counts, and Pim makes no apology for that.

how poor was Bresciano
a shadow of his former self
our defence however was rock solid, good to see Moore putting in a solid performance

Pitiful performance by Australia last night. I really cannot see Australia improving. Neil claims we are at 90%, if that is the case we are in huge trouble.
Denmark never got out of 2nd gear and easily shut us down all over the park. I hate to think what a discipline Germany will do to us. We are a shade of 4 years ago.
Kennedy was rubbish, slow, little movement, horrible touch. I would have McDonald any day.

lol, we beat a team who qualified first in a group that included Portugal and Sweden and it was pitiful?????? Boring yes, do I hate Pim's style yes but after last night I believe Australia will get through
Kennedy was poor and I am a MacDonald fan, however one huge difference - Kennedy scored

Letting the facts get in the way of a good negative story again
Netherlands beat Ghana 4-1 in their friendly overnight.

noone is gettin too excited. yes everyone seems to be a tad sceptical. but there is no real reason to be. the games really meant nothing more than experiments for pim. the idea was to try new things and give players a go for the 23 squad. people are reading waaaaay to much into the playing style thus far. the USA game should be a decent indicator of how we will play with the squad being 100% one would think.

As opposed to being all negative about a friendly performance?

I must say I was very negative after the New Zealand game , however I now simply believe the way we played although boring, was professional and rather than write us off believe we will get through to say it was pitiful is just plain stupid less than 2 weeks out from our first game

it might have been a friendly but it's the 2nd last game before the WC starts. Teams are trying to build momentum and confidence now ready for the real stuff so to think that either team didn't want to win is foolish.

why are u all so negative
support your team, for the lack of talent we DO have, it seems like the Aussie Team always puts in the effort to win

how many times did the mash potater say 'i think that shot was to see how the ball travels'
I think, to be perfectly honest, they may of had a few 'practice' shots with the new style ball over the past few training sessions before the game . . . . . . .
then again after that performance yes take the win as a last point, learn more from how they played and FFS show some creativity !

Yeh, bit worried about Bresc. Need him playing well as he is one of the main playmakers. Not much magic happening as yet.
