A's

Vale 0 - Fulham 1

The last 2 weeks had been good with a win in the cup and an unlucky 1-0 loss to Parafield.

This week the reward was there for the effort and it was well deserved.

B's

Vale 2 - Fulham 1

Should have been a draw at worst for Fulham but couldn't put the couple of good chances away.

Have to say Eddie the ref isn't getting any better though...some shocking decisions

I saw most of this one. I couldn't see the infringement for the Gully penalty although the referee made it very clear what he gave it for.

this game couldve gone either way with both teams missing chances. I dont think you can claim "should have been a draw at worst" when neither team could really complain if they lost! Did Vale steal it late? yup... a draw would've been fair but if you think Fulham deserved 3 points you're tripping

scrappy game in the firsts with awful conditions. wind was howling across the pitch all day and rained for the first 70 mins of the game. both sides had a few decent chances especially the number 9 for blue eagles. we scored with about 20 to go and held on for another win! :D
No offence dude but i think all teams faced the same conditions today

Does this prove the age old debate about the upper half of the amateur league being equal or stronger than the lower half of federation soccer??

Or is Pirie Savoy just a soccer team in turmoil?

You also have to ask how many players they lost (etc) who were just chasing coin.

Great to hear!

Would have sold more if the weather was better. Recon we only had about 30-40 people there. If it was a nicer day more would have come, specialy wives and kids.

Well done to beach for a GREAT BBQ

How many reserves games are extermely influenced by home referees and their selected whistle blowing I wonder, each week we read on here, "wait till our home game" to even up the poor referring,

I can see the impact as quoted above, having had a dubious penalty awarded against us yesterday, not that our loss was totally the refs fault, poor finishing was the main culprit

I must say this year we have played away 3 times, lost 2 and drawn one, but each time the Referee has been good to very good, Grove's Referee on Sunday (in the B's) was excellent

well earnt...??? pretty much could say this game went much the same way the reserves match was played out. To be fair though, Vale had a couple of half chances in the 2nd half but never actually looked like putting one away.

A lucky deflection in the reserves was enough for the vale, but then Fulham got one in the 1st's and held on.

Talking about the reserves U peanut! And besides the captin, i have never heard a bunch of bigger whingers in my life

I thought the first team were very unlucky, the Fulham keeper had a blinder of a game and so did his crossbar. The goal was an own goal that deflected of the sweepers knee on a counter attack....but thats football.

The reserves game was no classic, very scappy due to the conditions. Both teams had their chances and a deflected shot wrong footed the keeper in the last 20 secs and the Vale were tripping with the 3 points.

and a bit of poor form, dont think i saw 1 Fulham player in the club for a beer and a feed after the game...correct me if im wrong.

I can only remember 2 decent chances Vale took and they both went in the back of the net. The first a good unmarked header off a corner and the last being a very lucky deflection in the dying seconds. We had a hand full of chances but that's football! All in all very good bunch of lads no complaints about the way they played. Surely somebody younger has to take over the refereeing. A lot of dubious calls due to not being fit enough to keep up with play and making calls from 30 to 40 meter's away. I think he's past his good days and somebody else should step up.

Funny that because no one could see the infringement and the ref, when asked, couldnt actually say which player he had penalised for the foul. One of the softest penalties i reckon ive seen given.

well i hope no reserves teams have any complaints this season when playing at the east as the ref we have seems to favour the away team more. as shown by said penalty in bodos earlier post.

i don't know how anyone can ref or linesman a game and cheat on purpose for their club, what satisfaction do you honestly get from doing that, just ruins the game for both sides when it happens and it does seem to happen a fair bit.

i do believe though that no matter how bad a ref is they can't actually win a game for a team, if you're better than your opponents then you should still be able to get the win and usually even if the ref is bad or cheating if you don't get on his back then it makes it harder for them to blatantly cheat.

PHE must have someone new doing it then! The last two times we have played up there (West Beach) you have gained a dodgy penalty in each game.

In the B's that is.

The Generals had good wins in the As and Bs against Plympton

As - 5-2
Bs 3 - 0

Good work by the Bs fill in keeper to keep a clean sheet.

i gotta say that Para Hills B grade referee (the A grade keeper, Danny i think) was completely unbiased, from what i saw before going into change rooms for A's, he even booked his own player for a poor challenge. no complaints from any of us. A grade linesman was a young lad who did a good job and was very fair too. well done young fella

Much needed win by westies against the farm in ordinary conditions. Goal of the year by Westies keeper from his kickout had to be seen to be believed. Untouched end to end goal missed by every one.
