Your entitled to your opinion but if you are telling me that any defender is going to "back away" when the opposition player has made it to the edge of the penalty are and that defender is the only thing that could possibly stop him from a clear one on one opportunity with the goalkeeper, then sadly either you have rocks for a brain, or indeed you have never played the game in any position let alone a defender
