Go C-Black :D

Gonna be a hum dinger down Greenhill road way.

Either way it will be a Vipers win :D ...have to be happy with that.

All five OISC teams are playing their Pembroke counterparts on Sunday at Park 17, Greenhill Rd. It's across the road from KFC - I know where Bacon will be after his match finishes.

Does anybody require a referee for a Saturday morning match? We have an official ref at our club looking for some extra fitness. PM me for details.
Yeah, I'll be heading to our major sponsor :) Monday off work too :-D

(A's only) Pontians 4 - Vipers 2

Terrible start from the Vipers conceding 3 goals in the first 15 or 20 mins. The rest of the game was much much closer than the score resembles  Perhaps that vipers supporter shouldn't have warmed up the pontians keeper before the game

....and to do it all again today at the comets....talk about testing the fitness!

Seniors: Navarino 4 - Allstars United 3

Reserves: Navarino 1 - Allstars United 0

Great to see my old mate Sharkey today, was quick on the whistle to award a penalty against us in the first ten minutes.

A: Pembroke 1-2 OISC
B: Pembroke 4-1 OISC
C: Pembroke 4-1 OISC
D: Pembroke 0-1 OISC
E: Pembroke 1-3 OISC

We had 40 blokes NA this week and still managed to field 5 full teams  Pembroke had similar issues with 29 players NA. I wonder whether the FFSA ref knew he was doing a game involving a SAASL side

Also heard from the Pembroke President that the Collegiate League has included 12 new teams this year and two more divisions. They've taken all of the African teams from the SAASL except for United Allstars (6 of them) and the other clubs have grown to incorporate 6 more teams.

I wasnt there to see the Groves penalty but heard it was given in very similar circumstances... The quote I heard from many people i was standing near when the Vales penalty was given were "maybe harsh, but if the first one was a penalty then so is this one"

Grove looked much better than when I saw them the other week against the Downs. Could definitely tell who has played 4-5 trial games and who had only played 1!

Stirling v Gleeson

Reserves
Stirling 5 - 6 Gleeson
Stunning first half hatrick from Spinksy.

Seniors
Stirling 1 - 0 Gleeson*
*Match abandoned after only 15 mins or so with one of our lads on the end of a studs up tackle.
Result: broken fibula. Real bloody shame. Their home ref advised us to play the ball and keep it clean, obviously he didn't give Stirling the same message!!!

All here at GFC wishing Jay a speedy recovery.

Would have been nice if the league had actually sent an official ref rather than the Vale trying to organise a club ref 30 seconds before kick-off. Poor form by the league but thought the guy who had the whistle did a pretty good job given the circumstances.
