Are you still going on about that?

You should probably be nicer. Metro is "family friendly" remember.

When you look at a club's success, you don't just look at the prems results for the last five or so years, you have to look at how all of the teams have performed and Metro senior teams have done exceptionally well. A club is also successful on the front that it is welcoming, has a great atmosphere, is family friendly and the girls get along well both on and off the pitch. Ever seen a match where the Metro players are having a go at each other? Don't think so.

Curious that the Metro junior programs haven't really amounted to much. Too bad the club can't seem to develop homegrown players. Yes, let's look at how "all of the teams have performed". I think Fulham may have an advantage, over time, in that respect. It's a rare club that is consistently successful at the junior AND senior levels- so well done to Metro for strength at the senior level- time to get to work at junior level.

Well considering you're not family... or anyone that the people at Metro remotely care about, I'd say that doesn't apply to you.

And one other thing- how is eight teams the most out of all clubs in SA? Cumberland has eight, I'm quite sure City does- I'd get right down off of that high horse, if I were you.

But surely parents looking to get their daughters into soccer at this junior level your hoping to improve upon, you'd want your seniors players to be showing good sportsmanship, which includes being amicable towards other people, regardless of what club they may be from.

But then I guess with an attitude like that, it doesnt surprise me that Metro dont have strong junior sides.

Watching Metro supporters' behavior on Sunday and listening to their victory song- I was thinking the exact same thing- I'm very happy not to have those people as role models for my young daughter.

hmm nice friendly comments not sure where that came from! Open debate, no rudeness, sorry I didn't get time to research and post all championships for all clubs over the last few years. But breaking legs wt?

In my short time watching female soccer I would think without too much research that Adelaide City and Cumberland would be high in the junior ranks while as people including me have said Fulham take the cake for seniors.

Quality or quantity?

I should think that the goal is quality across the board, but also access to teams for whoever wants to play- in short, both.

greavsie's daughter you didn't make the comment about breaking legs so
Didn't think I was being rude- truth hurts.!

I also agree thou that as long as the women's league keeps improving quality or quantity is not a n issue, this is only a topic for debate when you are comparing teams performance which people were in this subject.

I would love to see each team with 4 senior teams and loads of juniors that would be great for the game, whether it would happen is a different story.

For those interested, here's the footage of the game, including the non-penalty, at 7mins 10secs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wTs_N2vOS4

You can see the Keeper take out Donna's legs. It looks like it would have been a certain goal as it was just Donna and the keeper. Donna side stepped to go around her but the the keeper just stuck out her arm and fouled her, then lay down to escape blame. worst decision ever.

let's see that again.... in super-slow-mo?

p.s. despite how much other clubs seem to hate metro, damn i felt a little intimidated at preseason '09 when all these new faces showed up and we were being told not everyone would make it.. makes you wonder, huh?

Okay so, anyone in their right mind who still thinks that wasn't a penalty?
The evidence is all there. The ball was passed past the keeper and Donna's legs were taken out by the keeper's arms.
Can't get a more obvious penalty.

this is evidence it indeed should've been a penalty.
this is evidence that the ref did make a mistake (one of many mistakes)

the other 18 odd minutes of footage is evidence of something else entirely.
