For starters, its Defenders who spring offside traps. Not attackers.
Everyone who does the line will cop some lip at some point. If you are refering to last weeks game, It was pretty important and passions were high. So i apologise for any excesive mouthing off.
1. Semantics... defenders set offside traps, attackers spring them. Unless you've got some attacking wing backs... :p
2. Not quite. Uni game. And that was my point. Lip, cool - I did have a laugh at the supporters efforts. I like supporters having a go, adds some atmosphere, gives me incentive to make the right call. Calling people cheats, though, is not on. Especially with the result of some of those calls that day.

1. perhaps, your coach could take your advice on setting offside traps. Cause we sprung them 5 times.

You didn't spring it 5 times, only once for a goal. Your goal in the first half wasn't from a through ball. Of the rest, 2 goals were clearly and 1 goal was marginal offside (which, again, your coach - and quite a few of the older guys on the sideline - agreed with me about), no-one could work out why the ref waved me down. His positioning was atrocious.
(While I'm on that, what in the world was sending off two players from either team for yellow card offences about? :? )

Buddy, totally agree with your frustration but a part of your role as a linesman in the SAASL is to cop shite. The only reason why the coach agreed with your calls was because we were winning comfortably, so why complain.
I honestly wouldn't be giving advice or having a go at our stikers for "not knowing how to spring an offside trap" unless you are an absolute f**king superstar or something. Keep running the line buddy... and take a box of Kleenex with you while you are doing it so you can have a little cry everytime someone calls you a cheat.

This has to be the most intelligent thing you have ever said
Not limited to the SAASL, but as soon as anyone takes the whistle or the flag they can expect to cop shít. Those that can't handle it or feel the need to spend the rest of the game arguing with someone behind him best not do it.
As for offsides, unless you're directly in line with the play you can't say for certain. In my experience quite often if a forward comes and asks who was offside it's usually them. Likewise the defender that whinges the most is usually the one who's playing everyone onside.

...typical... want to contradict yourself much more there?

Marquee signing!
haha, don't think they could afford his wage
what the whole $150 he gets a week
surely the Cougars could part with that little bit to gain a top scorer for the league and possibly win div 2 next season ifthey get promoted
Thats if we get promoted.... still very premature.
Love to have Kounavellis,Labrosciano and Mammone. Perhaps we can talk next season. In response to Vigalante, think these guys would prefer playing Saturday over Sunday, only because of the recovery they need from dancing at HQ all saturday night.
On the $150 a game... hmm. He may be worth it but...
what about Lalli, Mav,Marco,Dion,Elio,Labrosciano,Mammone and others?.... can create a sticky situation. Can tell you from experience that Lalli and Mav are worth more than that a game and have not recieved payment as they are playing for the love of the game and enjoy being at the club. Plus, the clubs performance on the field is just a small part of the big picture. It is the atmosphere and the respect everyone has for each other at the club which is making it what it is. Mate... if we have to start paying people, the first person a part from our coach to be paid would be Theo the cook!!!! Now that is one wage that we can not afford... thank f**k he doesnt charge!

I pretty sure you can sell or consume alcohol on a school ground. The Licence board wouldn't give you approval either so I assume you dont that this either. That is of course if they are still at the school

Your kidding yourself if you think that they would go to Cougars over Fulham if they went amateurs - you really are talking fantasy stuff.
Maybe if we draw you in the next round of the cup they can come out and watch and make there mind up who they would rather play for after seeing both in action.
yes you are right about the HQ side of things, but even that would not deter young Lawry from joining FUSC. I'm pretty sure he would be kicked out of home if he did otherwise
and Lalli owes me a bottle of black label. he probably thinks i've forgotten and that he can hide from me lurking down there in division 3 but i will catch up with him one day....
Well, well, well if it isn't bigpond himself . Mention the word FUSC and he appears like a genie
Vigilante my replies are measured these days but defintely read what is going on around the traps.
I think Ga Pala would give Lawerence a slapping if he ever thought of moving to Cougars and for Mammone I think his old man would rather him change from a crows to Power supporter instead of him ever going to Cougars.
Good luck in getting the bottle of black label back - u shouldn't give those away so easily!!!!

Well you seem pretty sure of yourselves.... good luck to ya's. Our club has had f**k all to do with Fulham so how someone would be so disgusted to join our club over yours seems confusing...
Any way, if we draw you in the cup, it should be a great western suburbs derby.... although by the sounds of things, if we did draw each other, you have already got it won... so we might just fortfeit
PS- if anyone touched Lalli, there would be hell to pay.
take it easy Cougar bloke. What I am saying, and what I think the bigpond is trying to say, is that given family history, that if the two youngsters in question played amateurs it would be at FUSC and a real surprise if they didn't. But hey in the end they are free to do what they want
PS Nico and i go way back and im not that way inclined to be wanting to touch him. He lost a bet that is all But hey keep up that non threating new look atmosphere you got going down there. sounds like it is working

I think Mammone used to be a Port supporter till Number 23 moved in next door.
