Gully 0 - 1 SPOC

A very hard fought game from both teams today. In a game that was played on surely the largest pitch in the league both teams gave it their all.

I think overall SPOC attacked a little better than Gully today with probably more chances to nail the game shut early in the second. Mind you Gully did pepper the box with numerous corners both at the end of the first half and in the second. Gully will certainly be a div 2 force and with 4 players to come back in will be tough to beat, especially at home.

Good luck to the gully, a great bunch of lads, and the SPOC train rolls on - big big game vs BOSA this week!!! Can't wait for the cup draw!!!

Cant comment on the Ressies game today but heard Rumours that a M Mcnickle Scored two absolute crackers

A's for Vista today was Very scrappy. Angle Vale are a Very Young side, who are quite quick and willing to give a go. Vista was quite off the mark today, it seemed the first touch was letting us down all day and the final ball was not quite what it should have been. Good result though and looking forward to improving for our next encounter vs San Marco!

Decent game by the boys today. We showed good fight. Uni were a good side, but they were one of the biggest bunch of whingers i have ever played against!! They had some decent touches and players, but telling the ref to give a yellow card is just not on in my book.
Anyways we got the resullt we were looking for and we march on into the next round.

Not troubled through out and a goal to Fulham after 15 seconds set it up.

Hard fought win and the boys deserved it against a good team.

Heard Ingle Farm A's won 3-2 in extra time over Plympton.

Plympton 1 nil up then Farm went 2-1 up and Plympton got a goal to equalise in the 90th minute.

Farm then won it in xtra time.

Have to say that was a very enjoyable game to play in even though we did lose, grove went 3-0 up in the first 15 minutes, with some quick counter attacks, we managed to grab one back before half time to set up a good 2nd half. I think we dominated for nearly all of the second half, missed some great chances and the keeper made some great saves, we got back to 3-2, but lost our concentration for about 5 minutes with Grove scoring two with some great finishing, we had the best of the rest of the half but could only pull 1 more back.

A hard fought contest all in all, and fairly good natured despite the reds. Pleasing for us iggies is that after going down to 9 men the afore mentioned keeper hardly had a shot to save.

Ingle Farm 3 - 2 Plympton Bulldogs (AET - 2-2 after 90mins)

Plympton took the lead probably against the run of play but Farm drew level just before half time. Farm took the lead early in the 2nd half only for Plympton to draw level on 89mins. Plympton went down to 10 men midway through the 1st period of extra time (2nd yellow) and just as the tie looked to be going to penalties Farm grabbed the winner with about 5mins left.

Farm had the most chances over the 120mins but a good performance from Plympton.

I played in the Bs and watched the Es on Saturday. We were on top in both games although both oppositions held their own for periods. The Bs was quite comfortable, Murray Bridge worked hard but our keeper made 0 saves.

I can only pass on other's comments for the Sunday match.

Against Munno Para, I heard that we got a dodgy penalty right on half time to make it 2-1 and dominated most of the second half and hit the post a few times, only for Munno Para to grab the third (and the win) on the counter when we were pressing up.

Against Para Hills Lions, I heard it was an even contest despite red cards.

East 1 - Uni 0

Decent game by the boys today. We showed good fight. Uni were a good side, but they were one of the biggest bunch of whingers i have ever played against!! They had some decent touches and players, but telling the ref to give a yellow card is just not on in my book.
Anyways we got the resullt we were looking for and we march on into the next round.

Uni couldn't score, woeful work in the box, two times created situations where keeper was stranded with defenders only elft on the goal line...and both times failed to convert. If you don't score you won't win, simple as that.

They had some decent touches and players

Gleeson 2 - 1 Pontian AET

Cracking game for the neutral with some dodgy refereeing for both sides.
Gleeson down to 10 men after 60odd minutes after second yellow. 0-0 at full time.
2 nil up (deservedly) with 5 mins to go, Pontian scrap a goal out of nothing. GFC defend like crazy and concede an unfortunate handball penalty in 120th minute. Keeper saves, follow up hits the post and ref blows his whistle for full time!!

Great game.

BOSA odds on favourites for this years championship...... just watch out for Adel Villa..... your only threat this year.
