I wouldnt be so sure, 4 points separate the top 5, I give anyone of Simba, Iggies, Murray Bridge, Pumas or the Falcons a chance at winning it.Kitchimo wrote:Edited from original postRob Lozza wrote:Simba will win this league easily imo.Kitchimo wrote:

Rob Lozza on the money early. They aren't winning it 'easily', but they are are on top after all 8 teams have played each other once.
You should have seen Simba after they scored their first against ACU, firstly it was a penalty for hitting the ACU defenders hand whilst covering his stomach => technically not a penalty, secondly the ref initially wasnt gonna give the penalty as he didnt see the incident, but the Simba players got in his face about it and he gave into their intimidaton. That started their comeback from 2-0 down as they were on the ropes til that point.Flud wrote:I am inclined to agree.. IMO there are better teams in this league than SIMBA.
Simba are talented individuals but Murray Bridge, ACU and Pumas play better team football and that is what wins leagues..
Simba A grade were dancing around on the pitch, doing cartwheels and pratting about even as our game kicked off. I know we are there to have fun but if anyone from our team was doing that as the whistle blew the coach would kick them into row Z!! If they get their act together they will be a force but I think the lack of desire and organisation will cost them points over the next 14 or so games..

Strath got their first goal by the ref ignoring the linesmans flag for an obvious offside, he ref'd the last Strath-Falcons game too, I wonder if he refs all the Strath games..Kitchimo wrote:As at 6 June
Just found out Falcons lost 1-2 in the first team and 3-5 in the reserves. Very tight at the top. OISC playing Simba in two weeks time, loser of that game will fall behind the pace. Still a long way to go though (13 games!)

Torrens Valley was lucky not to go down about 10 nil, their keeper kept them in the game and ACU had 5 first team players out due to injuries/suspensions etcKitchimo wrote:Still 12 games to go in this league, so anything can happen.

We are to blame for that. The keeper that they had last year played against us in Rd 1. He injured his ankle in the first half, so at half time they put that guy in goal - and he was UNBELIEVABLE! He stopped double figures at Glenunga in Rd 8. I told him that if he ever came to live in Adelaide he was more than welcome at OISC - would not look out of place in Division 1 or semi-professionally.acu_falcon wrote:Torrens Valley was lucky not to go down about 10 nil, their keeper kept them in the game and ACU had 5 first team players out due to injuries/suspensions etc
The Simba club ref wears NO shoes, carries NO cards and belives its ok to kick someone in the head whilst they're on the ground....and their rep says he passed the course!God is an Englishman wrote:good luck to anyone going to simba this year, some refs are bad, some are really bad, some you think are cheats. Others are the complete and utter cheats with no concept of fairness and equality.
Seriously, good luck to anyone down there. YOU WILL NEED IT!!
He was pretty damn good and most of his saves I reckon most keepers would struggle to get to, he even saved a penalty although it went in on the rebound.Kitchimo wrote:We are to blame for that. I'm not making excuses, its just that some dodgy decisions can shift the momentum of games.Chelsea4thewin wrote:i think the ACU falcons may be the most enjoyable team to beat, i love hearing there player complain and make excuses for every loss on the forum

All I'm asking for is consistency, either acknowledge both linesmans flags or ignore them both unless its blatently obvious, not one or the other which is what happened against Strathalbyn and Simba...Funky Punk wrote:Yet you do it regularly.acu_falcon wrote:I'm not making excuses, its just that some dodgy decisions can shift the momentum of games.Chelsea4thewin wrote:i think the ACU falcons may be the most enjoyable team to beat, i love hearing there player complain and make excuses for every loss on the forum
It's got nothing to do with consistency and you clearly have no idea about the Laws of the Game. The Assistant Referees (i.e. "linesmen") are there to provide advice only to the Referee. They do not control the game nor do they make decisions regarding incidents connected with play - that is the Referee's job and his/hers only. The Referee is not obliged to act on an AR's advice and would do so only for incidents that he/she has not seen. If the AR has been "ignored" therefore, it is because the Referee has chosen not to act on the advice.acu_falcon wrote:All I'm asking for is consistency, either acknowledge both linesmans flags or ignore them both unless its blatently obvious, not one or the other which is what happened against Strathalbyn and Simba...

If your Referee had the guts to say "Sorry. I got that one wrong!" or similar then I think you had a very good one. So many decisions need to be made in any match and it is inevitable that some of them will be incorrect. Yes, it can be annoying or frustrating but how many errors do coaches and players make in any match? A lot more than the Referee in most matches I would suggest and with more impact to the outcome.acu_falcon wrote:Ok let me make this clear right now.
The 3 games we have lost this season were all from the lead, 2 of those games the ref didnt lose it for us, we did for taking our foot off the gas, the other we were genuinely outplayed. (I think they know why they are)
But I must also say that the Strath ref admitted after the game that he got it wrong and its quite annoying when such crutial decisons are incorrectly judged.
Your right, its our first year in the comp after years of just playing games every now and then for fun.Rob Lozza wrote:If your Referee had the guts to say "Sorry. Flud wrote:At 'The Bridge' we have a pretty decent set up (Change rooms/showers/Bar etc..)
The bar is cheap and there is usually hot food on the go.
This week will be a good test for both teams, both A grade and B grade unbeaten this year and it's not a record we intend to give up easily!!!![]()
I have only just got registered so will now start posting our scores soon after the games...
Should be a good one!!!
