Re: zone championships
i was watching the zone tournament from the sidelines and i watched the final
and the stand out player i personally think was the east captain JOSHUA MEZZINI
he put all he had in the attempts of winning the ball and came out with it too !
I think he has the potential for state.

Re: zone championships
East vs North under 13's was pathetic.
Clearly East won the match obviously not in goals but were all over
North from start to finish to a absolutely ridiculous final goal in the
last minutes of the 2nd half of ET. East purely and rightfully deserved the game.

The person that said winning isn't everything, never won anything.

Ridiculous goal get over it.
You had two 'keepers and didn't play the other at all i believe.
It was a small pitch and the game was a bit stiffled so it was never goin' to induce a free flowing match with close-in skills.
Look, a good venue but pitch size :? legal so not much else to say about it.

Dont worry Barney, when North played their last game vs Country on Sunday, all the East 'boys' were sitting along the goal line under the tree bagging all the North players and saying how crap they were, and even giving the linesman abit of lip.Barney Rubble wrote:Damn, can never find that Smilie for sour grapesrememberthename wrote:East vs North under 13's was pathetic.

When North had their penalty against country they were right behind the net jumping up and down - not sure who they were trying to distract - didn't work either way.
When it was suggested to their coach to perhaps reign them in, we were told to go and tell their parents about it.
Very professional - especially at a supposed talent identification tournament. I suppose if there were any scouts from the Adelaide Zoo they would have picked up a few new exhibits

Re: zone championships
I would hope that is not the case as the rules of the tournament were quite clear....It was a talent ID opportunity for the kids and everyone was supposed to be given even playing time....strangely enough I know that did happen with some of the teams...including at least 2 of the winning sidesBarney Rubble wrote:

Re: zone championships
Very tight, even game. Felt sorry for the 2nd East keeper who dipped out in the Final....not very sporting in my opinion North also hit the bar which you fail to mention and the North keeper had nothing to save at all. Never mind mate, there is always next year.rememberthename wrote:East vs North under 13's was pathetic.

And as for the comments about East won the match but not in goals....how else do you win a match....or have I missed something these last 49 years

Re: zone championships
East killed north in this game.there was about 7 players that could be in the state team and they clearly where the best team out there. the east keeper made a mistake. it was luck. if the other keeper had been in the goal would not have happened because i saw him play and he new that the pitch was small, and a long kick could go in. in penalties east would of 1 as the east's second keeper that did not play is a specialist at penalties and for sure would of saved a couple of penalties.
Re: zone championships
Yes, back in the real world now. Nice to see some things don't change on here though. These kids on here can now look in to the future to predict penalty saves
Re: zone championships
This thread is getting funnier and funnier
What if....Lucas didn't give away the penalty...what if Diego got picked up for the hand ball...what if Ross didn't get the second yellow card?
Come on guys, get over it! The winner is the winner, that's all there is to it.

Especially penalty saves by the keeper that wasnt even given half a game in the grand final...rabbit wrote:Yes, back in the real world now. Nice to see some things don't change on here though. These kids on here can now look in to the future to predict penalty saves
Re: zone championships

When I did the STIC last year, we were told (and quite rightly) that every player should have equal game time, depending on the situation.
Did that change this year?
Re: zone championships
No it didn't change. We were all told that game time needed to be as even as possible. Let's not beef it up though....the kid may have been injured or sick....who knows? Good luck to all the kids from all zones in your future endeavours and make sure you have fun along the way too.

I think we should all get to the bottom of this issue. "y" or "i".
My neighbour's, friend's cousin said it was "y", but my cousin's friend's neighbour said it was "i".
I wont sleep tonight until I get some answers.

You know how boring it gets in Bedrock at nights!
Apart from Fred struggling to put his cat out each night after bowling, not much else happening
