Emma
Chi.....Kirrals.....Deyy....Di
.................De...............
...Donna.C...Paps...Slater
.......Scalzi.....................
.................Lia...............

Di - Dont think it'll happen because like someone stated before she works and lives in sydney.
Donna.C - Think she plays for metro (Dont hold me to that)
Scalzi & Lia - Work well together.
Deyy - Have to get her back from the eastern states.

Think the rest are a given.

Lia may not be the fittest but she gets in the right positions at the right time. And finishes. What more do you want than that.

The comp starts in October so hopefully emma is back by then.

Id throw nenita in at right midfield as well. Need a work horse.

Thought the idea was to pick the best team. Where is Swaff, Sharon Black, Tanya Harrison, Vicki Balomenos, Anne Marie Vozzo just to name a few.!!!!

Good names. Many potential candidates for the inaugural team.

Remeber one thing. It needs to be a team with players who understand the word team. Its nota place to be showcasing indvidulas at the expense of the team. I am certain Barnett wil ensure this happens. Some PLAYESR will need to leave egos at home.

Quigley yes
Black - yes
Swaffer - nope (good assistant)
Vozzo - definitely
Alagich - if we can entice her for a guest appearance.
Guerra? runs everywhere. A year or two away
Harrison - Small but damaging. Needs to release the ball quicker and not take on everyone. in the W-league will get hurt otherwiese. Good selection
GK - Gubs and Macca as fallback (can't go past these two) Not much else on offer.

Good names that will make a good team with good subs.

excellent debate

Now set it up in a starting 11 and subs because obviously to accomodate those players a few with have to be de-listed.

Names of players wont mean a thing if they cannot show a fairly high degree of fitness at the outset of the selection process. This will be a pre-requisite IMO. Engines to attack and defend. The standard will be high, and games will be fast and furious. :)

Picking starting 11 at this time not appropriate, needs more thought than that, because depends on the make up of the opposition. For instance first game Perth Glory and De Vanna, need a fast defensive player to cope with that. This player may not be in your normal starting 11. A squad of 18 with options seems more the go to me.

Agreed Beaches however, the game strategy to combat players strengths like Lisa for instance would be dependent upon the players available.

All in all, many of the first year's squad may be the backbone of future iterations. A bit like the Reds which in time will see the originals bow out.

exciting times.

Seen as your telling everybody else to name their squad why not name yours. Considering you would have some inside on some of the players.

I havent seen everybody play but they are the people that cut it for me. FROM WHAT IVE SEEN!

ok ill answer my question ..as i asked for a squad not an 11

Vick, scalzi, quigs or Fimmano altho both are very raw in terms of experience( for obvious reasons) and may struggle somewhat physically but 2 have them in the squad still for the experience and well we are lacking in fwds Mj would def be there but once again for obvious reason..
Blackie, Paps,Tanya Harrison, Slater, Donna C, De ( Stocco to replace one if we went with an o/s player that we could get back)
Swaff, Chi, Ebony, Di,
2 under 16s Ruth & nicole
Macca & Kristi harvey (emma injured otherwise shed be there)

thats just a team from first thought..complain about it im sure u want to buuuut i could care less id be happy to rotate in players such as Kirrals, Lauren chilvers, moni, etc or even a rotation of an under 16 would be ash

Here is a squad, that maybe has experience and an outlook on the future.

Defenders; Vozzo, Swaffer, R.Harrison, May and Brock plus rookie Weidenbach

Midfielders; Black, T Harrison, Slater, Papa, De plus rookie midfielder (wide)

Forwards; Balemenos, Scalzi and Quigley

GK. Gubbins plus 1

Plus 1 more young player. That makes 18.

Depending on availability; Alagich, Burgess and Stocco. :)

Just off topic slightly, just got wind that Richie Alagich is gonna be assistant coach for the side! Good chance we'd see Di back then!

I would have something like this

Keepers: Macca/leps

Defenders: Chi, Shorty, Kirrals, Ebs, Nicole (u/16 player)

Midfield: Paps, Dee, Slater, Harry,Blackie, Lauren, Moni

Forwards: Vicki, Scalzi, Ange, Quigs

But it would have to depend on these players fitness etc..

Just a small point of interest, one would consider overseas players to be not Australian Citizens. Stocco and Burgess for instance would not be overeas player status.

Overseas players would be like Welsh Internationals Kala Morgan and Katie Daly, or Philippines Impelido sisters and Sam Nierras. And any other overseas players not an Australian citizen. :?:

Need 3 keepers for the squad and need one with a bit more experience. Leps and Macca are both fantastic keepers but need someone who has played at the level just to add a tad more stability. Trimboli would be a good get if available
