Re: Rangers v Celtic
They were slipping BEFORE Gerrard left. Yes Gerrard got the 'main job' out of the way by stopping Celtic's quest for 10 in a row
but if you are brutally honest his League Cup and Scottish Cup efforts were remarkably uninspiring.
When you consider Callum Davidson at St. Johnstone managed to secure a double with a fraction of the money questions have to be asked. It would appear that Rangers under Gerrard certainly didn't like the 'favourites' tag in Cup competitions as he failed in every one.
Though the bears are seething at Gerrard's departure I think he got out at a good time- limited funds for new players and the existing ones drastically losing form, not forgetting the challenge from an ever improving Celtic side.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will do well to steady the ship and keep his crew on board. He could consider clearing the decks and reshaping the team but how much time will be afforded to a now expectant Rangers' support?

It's Scotland FFS, there's only two teams in it, you can't do that badly. Even Charlie Bowman could manage Rangers to second place.

Re: Rangers v Celtic
Well where do I start? All the bullshit about Ange not being up to the task and Rangers seemingly going to run away with the title a few weeks ago.
Always said from day one that if Ange was seriously backed by the board he would be a success at Celtic. Not so long ago many punters (from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres) were predicting his demise as early as a few games in.
He inherited a squad of players that were lacking in belief, desire, motivation, confidence etc. and has managed to turn it around in remarkable fashion.
Nine of the eleven starting players v Rangers were signed up by Ange and though the team is nowhere near the finished article (his own words, not mine) the rapid improvement within the team is extremely pleasing.
What is there not to admire about big Ange? Not much in truth unless you are a Rangers man or just a plain hater of people who are successful.
The man is a credit to himself, his club and the supporters that follow them. He gets the respect of others as he respects himself and speaks with honesty and integrity. When he walked through the doors of Celtic Park a few months ago he came across as a man who could talk the talk, now we know he can walk the walk.

Bullcrap, the top two are 13 points ahead of 3rd and 23 points ahead of 4th. I repeat, there's only two teams in it.theorakle wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 10:14 amit used to be like that, not any more. scottish football is good to watch with less overpaid actors and sofcoks with big egos to match.Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 8:51 am It's Scotland FFS, there's only two teams in it, you can't do that badly. Re: Rangers v Celtic
Great writeup TBG. I had douts on how he would go but mainly because of the way Lennon left the club. The signs were there even when they won the league a couple of years back. Still a long way to go but Ang has made this his side. Some inspired signings. Kyogo and Jota have been outstanding. Hatate is the same recently. Players like Abada and Rogic were struggling under the former regime.thebeautifulgame wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 11:07 pm Well where do I start? The result yesterday was great. Ranger seem to have had a few bad weeks and need to start getting it together. They certainly had a few good moments in this game but i don't recall Hart making many saves as against the Gers keeper making a number of brilliant saves.

Still well above any aussie coach or players. English managers in the Premier League...7, Scottish ...1, greasy...0, aussie....0.

er.......................Try 1967- Celtic 2 v Inter Milan 1 in Lisbon, Portugal. Celtic also did it with eleven Scots who all lived within a 25 mile radius of Glasgow. Those were the days!eagleboy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:04 amThebeautifulgame. If they were a British club then I'm sure they have lots of Union flags flying there and no irish flags.
