Re: One dayers
True Stokes has now been labelled a cheat in a low class act by yet another unsporting australian captain. How are the crowd racist when the entire aussie team is anglo. Morgan as is his right asked his opposite captain smith to retract the appeal which the weasel failed to do. The field umpires who saw it in real time did get it right, they thought it was not out. The witless moron upstairs who only watched the replay in slow motion got it wrongpredator wrote:Stokes is a cheat, the crowd are racist, and Morgan is a liar, and the umpires got it right, that's how i saw it, stokes reflexes are pretty good, here he is in action training before Thursday's game https://vine.co/v/eT7DrDHM21Q stokes knew exactly what he was doing and it wasn't to protect himselfGod is an Englishman wrote:That Ben Stokes decision was a disgrace. stokes reflexes are pretty good?? You must think he is superman… Okay you catch this fucker

Of course the lying toad Morgan would have retracted the appeal, just like Collingwood did, oh sorry he didn't did heN5 1BH wrote: Morgan as is his right asked his opposite captain smith to retract the appeal which the weasel failed to do.

Re: One dayers
Wow how long ago was Collingwood, a good 5 years. Anyway didn't he admit he was in the wrong and apologise unreservedly. Won't hold my breath waiting for the aussies to do the same though

From all reports and comments it seems Aussies think smith and Starc were right, the rest of world think he's a prick and stokes was not out.

Is Atherton an Aussie now??God is an Englishman wrote:From all reports and comments it seems Aussies think smith and Starc were right, the rest of world think he's a prick and stokes was not out.
In his column for the Times, Atherton argued that Smith did “what any reasonable captain would have done in that situation: he let the umpires decide.”
“Just as Stuart Broad was entitled to stand his ground at Trent Bridge in the 2013 Ashes, so Smith was entitled to uphold the appeal against Ben Stokes in the second one-day international at Lord’s on Saturday,” Atherton wrote.

Re: One dayers
The bloke you refer to as the "drug cheat" didn't think Smith was right. Mind you, he talks a lot of bollocks at the best of times, despite being one of the best to ever play the game.God is an Englishman wrote:From all reports and comments it seems Aussies think smith and Starc were right, the rest of world think he's a prick and stokes was not out.

My opinion as a cricket fan (and an Australian) - shouldn't have been out, really not within the spirit of the game. There's no way he did that deliberately in order to protect his wicket, more likely that he flinched given a ball was being pegged at him, understandably.

We won't. He's a former England captain. Any chance you could defer to his superior knowledge of the game?God is an Englishman wrote:You lot will probably claim him, has he ever had a pint of Fosters?Slinky_Pete wrote:Is Atherton an Aussie now??God is an Englishman wrote:From all reports and comments it seems Aussies think smith and Starc were right, the rest of world think he's a prick and stokes was not out.

Re: One dayers
Gillespie too seems to follow the current aussie line, no responsibility or accountability to the game for players or field umpires. No right or wrong, appeal for everything and send it all upstairs to some bloke in a dark room, let the replay sort it out. Forget about real life in real time, all about technicalities. Trouble is the video ump is quite often wrong too. Progress or the americanisation of cricket ?
Loved this erm.. justification from Glenn Maxwell too.

To all my English friends that aren't happy with the stokes dismissal, by your logic, I should be upset that England appealed for LBW against me. Both balls were hitting the stumps, both technically out according to the rules of the game, both of us should just get our limbs out of the way. End of story... 2 nil
Re: One dayers
My opinion he was out, first thing you do when a ball is coming at you and you fear getting hit is protect your face. His hand was no where near there.
If it was a defender doing the same in a goal scoring situation there would be no argument. End of.
