Shadow well and truly cast to one side. Despite Arsenal having more possession, Spurs had most of the decent chances and well deserved the victory. Champions League contender against a mid-table side so what did you expect I supposeChaos wrote:In the words of NOC, "it was Wigan for christ sake, dont cream your pants just yet"Mato wrote:another good win on the weekend
bale's running is wrecking havoc... twice in a row, red card for his direct opponent
adebayor still wild
king is the man, we look so solid
second half not as convincing, but aside from their goal they didnt really create a chance. so pretty comfortable
bring on the goons!![]()
This weekend shall be brilliant, two sides finding form, and (mainly spuds) playing attractive footy.
Time for Tootenham to rise from Arsenals shadow perhaps...........nah. Come for us

yeah it was a good win. wasn't particularly comfortable, but fuck me Adebayor and Bale both shouldve passed the ball into the net when given the chance.
i wonder whether we are better off playing 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 ... we played alot better once sandro sat in with parker
early days yet but looking good for fourth I'd say. 4 on the trot, next games undefeated Newcastle away after the international break

I hate to say this, but we are a team on a slide right now, and spudlys certainly made us pay, although we played better football, just nowhere near as direct and threatening.
Makes for an interesting season where the yids might just finish above us

Oh yeah, Friedel let in one goal and had the grand total of zero saves to make. Chesney (cbf with the spelling) played a blinder and made 4 or 5 decent stops including 3 one on ones.Chaos wrote:I hate to say this, but we are a team on a slide right now, and spudlys certainly made us pay, although we played better football, just nowhere near as direct and threatening.

After the comma, it clearly states we were not as direct, whereas you lot were.Nice One Cyril wrote:Oh yeah, Friedel let in one goal and had the grand total of zero saves to make. But, as Arsenal seem to be finding out, not shooting the ball and attemting to walk it in ,and, all the possesion in the world does not win anything.

Re: Tottenham 2011/12
Arsenal's problems are mostly at the back it seems to me. Gibbs is still learning so is prone to errors, Koscielny is garbage, Mertesacker is a bus, and Sagna is just OK. Vermaelen is decent but permanently injured and Song's good but is a midfielder. When you let in so many, you end up having to score 3 or 4 per game to win. That just won't happen all the time.Chaos wrote:After the comma, it clearly states we were not as direct, whereas you lot were.Nice One Cyril wrote:Oh yeah, Friedel let in one goal and had the grand total of zero saves to make. Pretty much all the genuine scoring chances came from Spurs and it was only the Pole in Goal that kept you in the game.

yeah agreed. apart from sagna and verm, the rest of Arsenals "defence" make titus bramble look like cannavaro at wc2006
also Chaos is kinda right. they held the ball for a while... but did fuck all with it. wheres we pass it to bale or adebayor and they beeline to the goal

So not much in here since the arsenal game yet the spurs machine plows along
fortunate overnight, probably would not have been harsh on fulham to get a draw. oh well
lennon has played quite well since he has come back. he and bale have both in in ripping form.
we've got villa(h) wba (a) and bolton (h) coming up... should be another 9 points and in that time you'd expect us to be well within the top 4 as newcastle will probably only get 1 point if that from their next 3 (man u away, manc away then chelski at home). not to mention we've still got a game in hand on everyone around us
things are looking good

Re: Tottenham 2011/12
No VdV (injured), No modric (ill)... no problem
tinkered lineup 4-4-2 with sandro/parker as CMs and two forwards in defoe and E. Adebayor
adebayor couldve had more than 5 today, his finishing was really poor. defoes goal was a cracker
probably the worst game defensively i've seen from the king/kaboul partnership, good thing we didnt get punished
walker also was in trouble quite a bit against jerome thomas.

Re: Tottenham 2011/12
Sandro and Parker are both a little too defensive minded to play Luka's position, which meant the ball didn't get out wide enough in the first half and the service to the front two wasn't as good as normal. Second half, maybe as West Brom tired, we started to dominate and, although we didn't finish them off until late, we could have been 3 or 4 up comfortably.
A decent performance and another 3 points at a difficult place to play. Ticking along nicely under the radar.

Re: Tottenham 2011/12
Well, it had to happen sooner or later and I suppose Stoke is not the easiest of places to go.
A bit annoyed that Kaboul got himself sent off, what a peanut, although I can understand his frustrations in being denied not one but two clear penalties. Can't really blame the ref as he can only give what he sees but WTF was the lino thinking when he gave Adebayor offside? There's one clown who should be rested for a season or 10. On the wrong end of the officials decisions but that's football. At least, apart from the first 20, we played well, dominated and should have won.

I should point out though that Chris Foy is from Liverpool - draw your own conclusions
