Well yes your right Cue Head but I dont think your with an amateur club. But I will rephrase. It would be an overwhelming, "No thank you"
Marooned, yes i am with an amateur club, and it is rather big of you to insult someone you have no knowledge of, after i have not thrown any stones at you guys.
Im pretty sure reading this thread that majority of SAASL clubs would vote no and unless ur two sandwiches short of a picnic you would know too, so why pick arguments? whats the point.

On something not related to the previous comment, its a shame that some wankers are just using this thread to throw shit, 90% of it is informative and general chat between club members, so why dont the other 10% just fuck off!

Im not picking arguments - i just advised marooned that he doesnt know my clubs stance of the FFSA/SAASL scenario, and he then rephrased it.

I didn't pick a fight - i just pointed out the flaw in his statement. You yourself said 'majority', you didnt say 'every'.

See the difference?

I know the difference, (so you know i have no idea who marooned is) but dont you think your picking at straws a little? you know what he means.

just to reiterate the last bit of my post was not directed at you, just the ppl who come on here and treat it as a forum to throw shit at each other under the guise of a secret identity

He implied that they would have a unanimous vote. He later correctly changed it to overwhelming.

Thats fine ramos, i know what you are on about in regards to secret identities.

My opinion is that the rubbish about supporting our juniors to create elite players, if they were so short of cash why dont they save some money elsewhere.
I would be happy to spend an extra 10 dollars to my kids registration if there were going to be tangible results, why should a couple of mates playing for the love of the game have to contribute extra to junior developement. If you amalgamate the boards and carry on down this road in 5 years time there will be another amateur competition like the local sunday pub teams in the UK.

Where do I fit in? I may not be involved in any club at present but I still have a vested interest.

ramosrules, doesnt nearly everyone on this use a alternative identity ?

in regards to individuals expressing and bringing one's activities/agenda/opinion/facts/truth/ to this forum, obviously those that havent been stung as yet jump on they're high horse protecting they're (our) precious SAASL. Why dont you all take a step back and think about the clubs that have been treated unfairly and punished for no reason and the clubs that have been cheating and then protected by our SAASL.

thats the truth, there's no bullshlit in any of the above, i've said it before and i'll say it again, why dont you all put yourselves in the position of clubs that have experienced the following...

1. club(s) deducted points after falsely accused of playing suspended/un-registered players and as result being relegated.
2. clubs written requests being ignored or brushed under the carpet.
3. clubs registering suspended players and getting away with it.
4. clubs registering players under false names and getting away with it.
5. clubs utilizing the services of FFSA players during they're games and getting away with it.

the above are not rumours, nor gossip, nor hear say... they're facts and has happened and its happening!

the FFSA at the end of the day runs a more proffesional recognized organization, all the above wont be tolerated by the FFSA and for those that start carrying on about me being a member or a player within the FFSA, dont bother, im involved in the SAASL and i have nothing to do with the FFSA, you can all take that as you like but thats that, i would one day like to be a part of the FFSA because we wouldnt have to put up with the SAASL bullshlt

the clubs that have been treated unfairly and have put up with their bullshlt should ask themselves, do we need to put up with this or make the move ? For those clubs that are happy can stay and continue on they're merry way, good luck!

Your right in regards to the vollenteers running our association & have done for years!
Some people on this forum need to understand our league wouldn't be in the fantastic financial postion if it wasn't for there hard work.
I RESPECT people who put them self in a postion of WORK to be critisised for nothing more than the love of what they do! And the thing I find most amusing is the critics do nothing for the sport except critisize.....
Not critising the volunteers, I think they deserve recognition for there time and effort that they have put in. But we are talking about two leagues here, one recongrised by FIFA one not. Surely you can see some problems in the near future, if they are not occuring already.

And its not meant to be critisism, it is opinion. :)
I am pretty sure in an earlier post you DID criticise the volunteers by accusing them of corruption?!?
If I criticised them, I meant it in Gest.

If this is / was the case then how can you blame the SAASL or the Club, surely the player is the only one you should be blaming ?
If you look at this thread you will realise how confusing it was, registering under a different version of his real name...makes it difficult for anyone to check!

The Downs have probably been relegated 6-7 times over the last 35 years, who knows if the opposition played some illegal or suspended players at times. Downs always took it on the chin, copped the "up and Downs" tag but fought on.
If you don't perform well all season then you run the risk of a "controversial" decision deciding your fate, a penalty, an offside, a send off, a league ruling etc....If your club's strong enough you'll bounce back.
My experiences with SAASL are that if the evidence is not compelling enough, decisions aren't made hastily, or nothing is done. We can't judge whether you're Club was hard done by because we don't have the evidence, likewise you haven't presented any evidence, apart from heresay to back the accusations you are directing at the SAASL.
I personally doubt that any other disciplinary committee or organizational body might have ruled in your favour.
Relegations and promotions are a result of the whole years performance.
Not everyone will sing the SAASL's praises, but I haven't heard too many singing the FFSA's praises recently...there is a lot on unrest in that camp !
As Bob Marley said "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time."
SAASL is just standing up for its rights....

In years gone by there wasn't a forum where things got blown out of proportion and openly discussed, so many incidents may have gone unnoticed. It's hard to be sure on the incident above, who at the club knew what and whether it was the player who deceived the club or the club not. Either way, as I have said before the SAASL has to hear from ALL relevant parties because they can make a decision, so of course it's going to take time. I don't think the FFSA would be any different.

There have been a few incidents posted on this forum, but how accurate the reports are are open to debate. I certainly don't take anything posted in here as gospel and can only be 100% sure of the once incident that I saw first hand, and on that ocassion I think the SAASL made the right decision.

thank you swann and i hear and respect your opinion, well said

and yes, there are up's and downs in our game, the wrong decisions during a game and the mistakes on the field, yes you are correct, "chin up" and "soldier on" but it's the boardroom decisions i'm talking about!

jumping back to your highlighted thread in question, i find it very hard to believe that a FFSA player just walks of the street and chooses a Div 3 club to play for, did that player draw the name out of a hat or did he look them up in the yellow pages ? come on, everyone knows that the player in question knew and had friends there hence the reason for choosing that club, anyway, enough of that, lets just wait and see what the outcome is ?

once again well said swann, hopefully the bullshlt remarks and responses will stop that way no-one gets all fired and responds

i have seen numerous crowd disputed on and feild indescrssions in my time playing SAASL and often not much is done and this is SAASL major flaw, they are two soft on clubs, it has gotten better in the last 18 months but the need to be tough against teams he are regularily involved in violence, black eagles were kicked out but they have exsisted as two different clubs before now, why were they allowed back in?
Guus H mentioned a team was relegated for using an unregistered player in div 2 this year, that was the truth many sources stated this and the club took the punishment...

thats right DOC, the club in question was stripped of their points and unfortunately were relegated, if that decision was not made they would've survived in that Div... but in the clubs deffence, they had hard proof of who the player and that he was not suspended, other evidence and stat decs were also provided etc and were still punished, harsh i think!

the SAASL need to be consistent in the decisions, dont you agree ?

Hey Mr (take it and run) Guus I can tell you of a super league player who returned from overseas and was played unregistered although clubs complained nothing was done by FFSA. The decision cant be challenged through courts as there is a FIFA ruling that clubs cant take associations to court. So it happens in the bid league too so whats the point of your arguement that we should join all the FFSA because the Amatuer League are supporting cheats.

guus h you don't know the facts at the game where the unregistered player was found, the ref did a card check and found he was ineligible to play and wrote it up in his report, he was going to call off the game at half time but people waned to play think the team were garaunteed the points anyway... then it took ages for the league to make a ruling, the rlegated team tried t stop the penalty with a stat dec but lost the points, were relegated and have't really whinged about it...

Is that the responsibility of someone who wants to play amateur league and kick a ball with their mates?
Firstly, I don't think it's my responsibility. Secondly ten dollars is nothing... but don't these children have parents?
We in my opinion it is our responsibility.
There are alot of amateurs for many obvious reasons and due to the flexibility the cost to run the comp are low.
There are less players involved in the elite setup and it cost more to run the league and youth development programs.

We all want to see football progress in our country. We cant expect the less to fund the program while the more watch and take joy out of the success of the less.

Also it is hard for coaches to access /update training techniques and accreditation.
This needs to be addressed as this is the way of improving the technical standard of our game throughout the population.

No moneys from the levy should go to running the senior elite comp.

Yes.
If we want our kids to have the best possibility to achieve and succeed it is vital.

I would rather see SA kids progress to the ranks of A-league and beyond. $10 a year is nothing to see this happen.

As long as the money goes and continues to go to the right priority - youth development.
Charge there clubs the money, they already pay between $300.00 to $750.00 to play Feds, use that money for your elite players and leave the kids ,guys and girls who just want a kick alone....

Dosnt my club allready support the development of junior soccer in South Aust. by having 15 junior teams, putting coaches through courses ect. ect. ?

Also I wouldnt mind if the money was going to junior development in this state, my question is who is paying the 6 figure salary Mr Carter is on?

My other question is what is the financial position of the FFSA?
who would know, I find it hard to believe that the affiliated clubs dont even know & they wont disclose it?

I personally wouldnt want Mr Carters job for a seven figure salary. He probably, as most CEOs find he has been left with a white elephant. He now has to find a way of turning that elephant into a financially viable organisation. There are many ways to do this. The route he has chosen is not one of them. At the Downs we stuggled for many years before turning a profit, thanks to a business plan implemented by former chairman M Swann we were able to pin point our strong points and our weak points. We did not take the easy option of putting tariffs (taxes) on our players, in fact we gave them more for their money. Number one rule in the entertainment business is you must put *bums on seats. *Bums on seats has two advantages, turnover from sales of food and beverages and an atmosphere where people dont want to miss out on, hence more *bums on seats. This also attracts sponsors as they can place their product in front of a larger group. Our club is run as a business and not as a social network, social networks come and go usually leaving a string of debt behind. Mr Carter should realise by now his plan stinks and not attractive to most clubs. A rethink is needed.

*Bums is not a reference to Parafield or the Vale

Firstly, I don't think it's my responsibility. Secondly ten dollars is nothing... but don't these children have parents?
We in my opinion it is our responsibility.
There are a lot of amateurs for many obvious reasons and due to the flexibility the cost to run the comp are low.

Your club does support youth development with 15 kids teams but your senior players dont, or you have already inbuilt your own club levy. What about the amateur clubs without juniors?

I dont know enough about any dicussion, agreement, who gets paid what etc etc. So i cant comment Nugget. I just know for improving the game we should be united. After all, we have a hard enough time getting credability, sponsorship because we are competing with AFL, NRL and cricket.

As long as the money goes and continues to go to the right priority - youth development.
Charge there clubs the money, they already pay between $300.00 to $750.00 to play Feds, use that money for your elite players and leave the kids ,guys and girls who just want a kick alone....
That why the fees are so high. Are high fees stopping kids from entering the federation. Maybe.

no point arguing with u on this one Southhampton. I have my views and you have yours. (self focussed as they may seem)
