Its good to see people remembering the history of Seaford. lol. I wasnt around for the City merger, only really heard about it. All Ive heard is two clus struggling, one finacially, one for player base/quality. The clubs merged in an attempt to save both and over the years it became the Seaford of today. THe grounds Seaford are at now I believe is what made the club so strong for so many years. With no real pub at Seaford, a lot of local folks used their ground as the local pub. Its not the same as those days (nothing ever stays the same, of course), but Seaford have always had a good bar and a fairly consistent supporter base because of it.

Lots of bad feelings aorund a few things in the southern area many years ago. The start of South I remember in particular because I was at that first meeting as a....15 year old? Maybe 14? EIther way the Seaford and Noarlunga reps were rightfully angry at Council money not being spent to assist their clubs and the people that started Souths were generally a mish mash of people from outher southern clubs.

End of the day, it happened and Southern football is doing quite well mostly. Its still being built up a bit, but with the new club starting at Aldinga, along with Cove starting to get their plans together, there is lots of good natured (sometimes) competition around.

Good solid performance. Comfortable win. They only worried you a few times in the first half. 2nd half Luke barely had a save to make. Your midfield is particularly strong. With Noarlunga slipping up yesterday it helps both our causes. We can only control what happens when we take the field so one game at a time. We look forward to the round 9 match up.

Check Unleys FB page. If they did play it, they usually put the 'Highlights' up on their site.

Neither team rang through the score and SAASL haven't received the team sheets yet....which is funny given the game was played at SAASL HQ...

Round 7

Croatia v Seaford - Croatia host Seaford this week in what has the makings of a good game. Both teams coming off dominant displays last week. Caught the Seaford game and they looked good all over the park especially their midfield 4. Croatia are rolling along nicely after their first 2 opening season losses. Think Seaford will win this in a close game 3-2

Noarlunga v Asia - Noarlunga were upset last week against an up and down SA Centrals. This week gives them opportunity for redemption against a team coming off a pasting by Croatia. Noarlunga are always a tough prospect, especially at home. Noarlunga for me 7-0

Aldinga v SA Centrals - SA Centrals coming off a convincing 4-2 win against Noarlunga will be a tough opponent but an opponent we look forward to meeting. We're looking to extend our unbeaten start to the season. A lot of this game depends on Which SA Central's team turns up on the day. Results suggest they can be a tricky team to beat so we'll have to be on our game. No prediction here

Athelstone v Sierra - Saw Athelstone play last week and apart from a few chances in the first half didnt really threaten at all. They have improved since the opening game in which they lost a bit of a shoot out 8-5. Sierra are a team that are hard to judge having not played against or seen them this year. Athelstone to win this 3-1

Andrews Farm v Unley - Andrews farm after being 2-0 up last week lost to Mawson Lakes 3-2. That must hurt and I expect them to fire up and give Unley a good contest this week. Going for an upset here and think Andrews Farm will win 2-1

Mawson Lakes - Enjoy the bye this week. Freshen up, get some players back from injury and attack the rest of the season with the same fighting spirit that got you your first win last week. Coming back from 2-0 down to win it shows good character and fighting spirit. Well done on your first win in Div 4

Croatia - Seaford

Seaford won 3-1 in both games. Both games were good contests but pretty scrappy games. The B's went 1 down early and did well to come back. 2 late goals to seal it. Croatian keeper had a great game and pulled off some screamers.

In the A's Seaford got 3 up before Croatia scored a late pen. Was 1 nil for a long time and and we really needed the 2nd goal. Got 2 quickly to make it 3 before Croatia pulled one back.

Graat pitches to play on and great facilities. Look forward to the return fixture.

Ressies
Aldinga 2-2 SA Centrals

First team
Aldinga 3-3 SA Centrals

They are a good young side who have some very classy players. We keep our undefeated status intact. We had some defensive lapses which cost us in the end. We had a perfectly good goal disallowed in te 2nd half which would've won the game for us. We took a quick free kick, played in our forward who scored and they complained. They didn't ask for a whistle and the ref didn't tell us to wait either so when he called it back it was disappointing to say the least. On a better day we probably wouldn't have leaked as many goals as we did but that's football. Good bunch of lads at Centrals, good luck for the rest of the year lads

Forgot to add we lost 2 players to injury before the 30 minute mark.

Luckily it's not me like history would suggest lol
We had a guy with a suspected broken ankle. He had X-rays and has been given the all clear which is great news. Another guy hurt his knee/ankle and had to go off. That's where our depth comes in. We had a guy make his debut today and looked all class on the ball. Really good player and we're getting a few others back who hurt themselves against Noarlunga

Smashing result from Andrews farm getting their first points against a good unley side. Obviously pretty up for it after last week.

Athelstone v Sierra scores?

Tipping went alright this week. Predicted the correct score in the Noarlunga game, Seaford to win in a close one and Farm to get the chocolates.

Sierra won the A's 4-2, and the B's 5-0.

Not 100% on the A's score as I only saw that in the paper today - but the paper said our B's scored twice (must have been confused with the red card count).

believe they got slung out. i reckon they should have their own league so they all could fight each other. too easy hey. you just know they will be back either in different teams or different names. just street gangs in football shirts. if the govt stopped spending OUR money on them the league would get rid of them quicksmart and the league could return to normality again. :?: i wonder if the govt pays the players/warriors rego fees to the league as well. :?:

Big weekend of games this week! Noarlunga V Seaford will be a big one. In the B's its the two undefeated sides. If only the game wasnt being held at exactly the same time as the Federation fixture, there might have been a decent crowd there. Not quite sure why it wasnt moved.

Move it yourselves. Adelaide uni play Friday nights sometimes. Why can't it be played on the Saturday then it's a win win for both sets of supporters who want to see the derby; including me lol
