Re: Juventus Transfer Campaign

Post by Milos#27 »

From the latest reports I can't see us signing a star attacker, it seems as though we are going to be screwed and all because Marotta has deliberated (we could have signed Rossi on a pre-contract in winter before he penned a new deal). Aguero's pending move to City means Ath Madrid is looking for a new forward and they will be cashed up. Villareal are stalling because they know that if Madrid are desperate enough they will pay top dollar for Rossi where as Juve and Marotta are about 5 million short on Villareal's valuation.

I can't see Vucinic ending up at Juve either, Roma don't won't to nourish the competition thats why they are asking for ridiculous swap deals like Marchisio, something they know Juve will never go for. I know that a forward shouldn't be our priority but we need a game breaker, someone that can take the attacking focus off the likes of Krasic, I still have doubts if Quag's has recovered enough to provide us with the attacking charisma he showed before he did his knee. I feel we are one key player in each zone short, my wish list; Rossi, Bastos and Rolando.

Better get something sorted soon or Conte doesn't get much pre-season time to work on his tactics with new players.

Sissoko off to PSG, so that is the centre of midfield sorted.

Sissoko gone for 7m with another 1m to be paid to Juve depending on performance related bonuses. Rossi officially off the market accoridng to his agent, and I can't see us signing Vucinic either, not that I'm all that keen on seeing him at Juve anyway. Marrotta better pull something big out for that second striker position that's for sure.

All reports indicate Juve are focussing on Lugano for Chiellini's CB partner. Very underrated player who is also a great leader. I'd still prefer Vargas in the LM position over Bastos. Then hopefully a big name striker after that!

They wouldn't even afford to blow 5m for him. Hence the reason they've been going for freebies and loaning out players. Bankruptcy is around the corner.

Lugano is rumoured with Serie A again, this time with Juve.

Have watched Juve's last two 1-0 wins on the American tour. A lack of a left winger and second striker is so evident. Defence looks solid though and Bonucci looks to have stepped up his game. Ziegler, De Ceglie, and Lichtsteiner will provide good service at the full back positions but still not sure about Motta. It's so easy to see how every one of our attacks goes down the right hand side, and teams became aware of this at the end of last season and shut down Krasic well. At the moment, there are just too few players who can provide those moments of magic which can win us games. Quags, Pirlo, Krasic and Del Piero are all capable but another 2-3 quality additions in the transfer window will help a great deal.

I'm just wondering if that is a striker signing or left mid? Let's see it firstly being official, and secondly, see what Marotta has to say about the next transfers.

Hope we get Lugano, he is quality.

Not sure exactly, but you could email the club and see?

With our squad,

Goalkeepers: Buffon, Storari, Manninger
Defenders: Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichsteiner, Ziegler, Grygera, Motta, Sorensen, Grosso, De Celglie
Midfielders: Pirlo, Vidal, Pazienza, Marchisio, Krasic, Pepe, Martinez, Ekdal, Giandonato, Almiron, Pasquato
Strikers: Del Piero, Matri, Quagliarella, Amauri, Toni, Iaquinta

So out of that we will look to sell Grosso, Motta, Almiron and one or two out of Amauri, Toni and Iaquinta. Sorensen, Pasquato Ekdal and Giandonato will be available for loan. Martinez is 50/50, don't know how that will end up.

Add in Vucinic and a fourth central defender and you get,

Goalkeepers: Buffon, Storari, Manninger
Defenders: Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichsteiner, Ziegler, Grygera, De Ceglie, *new defender*
Midfielders: Pirlo, Vidal, Pazienza, Marchisio, Krasic, Pepe, Martinez?, Vucinic
Strikers: Del Piero, Matri, Quagliarella, Toni, Iaquinta

I took out Amauri for arguments sake and because that is the dream.

Even the Corriere dello Sport see Vucinic as the new left winger.

Agree with most but I'd also be selling Grygera and Iaquinta. Replace them with quality additions or even give standout youth players a chance.

Anyone know what's happening with Iago Falque? Signed from Barca with big wraps a few years ago and has gone out on loan a couple times and impressed. Could he possibly be given a chance at LM?

consider a front three of Vucinic - Matri - Krasic.

Could be formidable & is probably the best suited to Vucinic, especially if you fail to sign a LM.

Last I heard he was going to be bait if we went for Silvestre from Catania. But that was over a week ago and nothing came of that.

Lazio were after him, before Juve trumped everyone for him... Juve hadn't had too much luck with foreign central midfielders of late.

Is he now that bad?

Almiron was even pretty good for Bari the year before last, always liked him but is injury prone which will be pushing him closer to the end of his career.

Lazio have shown an interest in Parolo, obviously more expensive but Foggia could be included in the deal to reduce the fee.

Parolo was basically Cesena's best midfielder last year? Would be happy to pick him up and get rid of Foggia at the same time.

I think Almiron would flourish at clubs like Parma, Udine etc etc. Would happily take him at Lazio provided he passed a medical.

It's not as if he was absolutely awful, he did ok at Bari like getborn said, but we need players off the wage bill.

Marotta said that now the main aim (as well as a winger) is to sell those who are not in the first-team plans.

Absolutely, earned himself an international call up too.

Would be a good signing for most clubs.

Juve close to securing Giaccherini from Cesena. His agent is currently in Turin to talk with the club. I've heard it will be cash (something like 3mil) plus Martinez on a season loan. Also read Cesena may ask for Pasquato on loan.

If we get him it will just leave securing a central defender and selling some deadwood, which I'm increasingly doubtful will occur with each passing day. Almiron, Amauri and Grosso need to be the top priority to get rid of.

So our "World class" striker search went from Kun and Rossi to Vucinic, and now our left winger search has gone from Vargas, Malouda and Perrotti to Giaccherini. Not good enough Marotta. I'll be interested to see who the new CB is going to be. If we're linked with Alex and Lugano it's more likely we'll end up with...I dunno, maybe Titus Bramble?

Aguero was never coming to Turin, problem is the media kept the story going. Rossi, while I agree we should have wrapped it up earlier, was then taken off the market when Villarreal sold Carzola. As for the wingers we only know an offer was actually made for Elia, the rest was just speculation. Whether it comes back to bite the team in the arse we shall see.

Problem is trying to, as fans, find the balance between real stories and interest and those designed to sell papers. With Juve there is plenty of the latter, not so much of the former.

Paraguay International Marcelo Alejandro Estigarribia has claimed that he's signing for an Italian club but hasn't said who, reports in Italy claim it's Juve.

I can also see us doing a deal for Bruno Alves by exchanging one of the players they're interested in (Probably Pepe instead of Bonucci)

So, by 1st September I'm Assuming:

In:
Alves
Estigarribia
Giaccherini

Out:
Martinez (Cesena Loan)
Pepe (Zenit)
Amauri
Grosso
Almiron (Catania)
Iaquinta

You can probably add Manninger and Grygera to the outgoing list but it will be a miracle for Marrotta to get rid of all of these players in time.

Estigaribbia will probably sign tonight for Juve .... proposed deal is loan for 12 months then option to buy for 5m euro.

Giaccherini deal is done.

Marotta's and Paratici's recruiting rep is now on the line for Giaccherini and Estigaribbia. On paper they are some way off the mooted Bastos, Vargas, Elia, Affelay, Malouda and a host of other left wingers.

Bruno Alves would be nice, but the Russians paid 22m just 12 months ago, and they would want both Pepe and Bonucci (combined value of over 20m euro) in exchange, but problem being Bruno is 30 yo.

Martinez goes to Cesena on loan as part of the Giaccherini deal.

No market for Grosso who I expect will sit in the stands for 2m euro a year :(

Almiron will be farmed out and I'm confident Amauri will find a home.

We may get stuck with Iaquinta. The guy has injured himself 3 times in pre-season already.

I understand that two offers for Bastos were turned down.
