I'm sure the players would prefer to play than to have a bye for the 1st cup round weekend ?

Play a league game then. The lower leagues play league games during later cup rounds, why not vise-versa?

I know this has been gone over before, and it's a fine balance, but I doubt anyone on the receiving end of a Div 1 vs. Div 4 hiding has much fun.

Maybe add more teams from lower leagues to the prelim cup rounds, and have Round 1 as per normal?

Or have no prelim round, Round 1 as the season opener with everyone up to Div 3, and add Div 1 and 2 teams to Round 2?
Because everyone needs one.

None of the divisions in the Cup play in the latter rounds of the Cup this season.

Just happy to be out of the cup and concentrate on other things...
Despite the flogging all the playing group went back into the florina clubrooms for a drink or two

Not sure Downs reserves would agree.

Leave it how it is...prelim round then Round 1.......Having a prelim round works well. The beauty of the cup is
who you draw and who pulls out to give you a free ride to the next round...

Well our reserves were on the end of a 16-0 thumping at the hands of Southern Knights, and we were glad to have played the game. The Knights guys were great and played very fair and were very aware that the average age of our team was about 16. Good experience for our guys and they were actually pretty upbeat after the game. I told then before the game to go out and appreciate playing against a good side and try and pick up a few things.

Why is that funny? In Cup Round 2/3/Qtr/Semi, there is no League games for Div 1/2/3/4 (at least for Saturday games)

Yes, well said, we are also glad you played and no-one gave up which shows great heart - thought the Referee was also great, got into the spirit of the game, no bad tackles and everyone very respectful at the end
