Great idea!

Angle Vale have drawn a Div 1 opponent... Can't wait to get a crack at a higher side to try rustle some feathers.
Why you would want to forfeit because of Grade/Division is beyond me.
Angle Vale looked quite solid in the Playford Cup at the start of the year !
Hopefully their B's win.

And if they forfeit it means they miss out on the cup altogether.

What if 16 teams from Div 1 Sat & Sun (excluding newly promoted teams) didn't join the comp until Round 2?
It would mean the Preliminary Round would be almost a full round with few teams getting byes (might need to rename it Round 1).
Lower division teams would stand a really good chance of getting two cup games before meeting a Div 1 side.

What do you think of the idea?
I think in a perfect world there wouldn't even be a preliminary round let alone a second preliminary round....plenty of lower league sides have knocked out div 1 sides in the past

WHAT THE FK? YOU ALL WANT TO HARDEN THE FK UP !

Make your wife breakfast in bed, & take your mother out for dinner!

Most of Players Wife's & Mothers that I know come to the game & support there Husband & Sons
+1 Clubs can even be pro-active about the day and offer all mothers a free glass of wine or champers...seen it done before and it works well...most go back for a second or third

So does anyone think any lower div teams have a great chance of an upset against any higher div opponents this weekend??
It almost always happens somewhere along the line each year.

I think you play the game no matter who or where you are playing or what else is happening on that day.

you only get to play for half the year why would you want to cut that short.

I would love to be playing this weekend, but what can ya do.

to be fair, so far it's only one person complaining about it and then a long list of people complaining about the complaining.

Salisbury Villa B's vs. Punjab Lions

6-1

Although the score is flattering to Villa this game proved that it can be anyone's game on the day as the score was 0-0 at half time. Although Villa missed a lot of chances in the first half credit goes to Punjab for hanging in there to go 0-0 into the break.

Second half Villa took their chances and finished them, as Punjab ran out of steam, but to Punjab's credit, not once did they roll over and throw in the towel as they showed a lot of heart and continued to battle on to the end.

Good effort from Villa to bounce back from the thrashing they copped from Wanderers on the weekend, and they did it with 4 regular players pulling out at the last minute before the game.

Had Villa continued to miss their chances in front of goal and the score stayed at 0-0 for the majority of the game, there was always the chance Punjab could steal the win. Goes to show that if the lower div teams are willing to show up and have a crack, and the higher div teams are off their game, it can be anyone's match on the day.

Thanks again to Punjab and the officials for agreeing to the change of dates and sharing a drink with us afterwards. Nice bunch of lads. Hopefully Villa can continue that form into the league.

I would go as far to say that Blue Eagles would be the favourites to win if u could bet on the game.

Beat them last year in cup so there is no fear there and they r a better team this year - would have 1 of the best defences going around in any division.

Undefeated this year as well - they will come up with West Beach this season without a doubt.
