So you bought an attacker to do a defensive midfielders job?
Di Livio was predominantly a winger.

More like wing-back. Really... he played a wide midfield role and never attacked like a winger. I guess you would know more than myself, just how I remember him from back in the day.

Pepe has played on the wing in a front three, can't remember Di Livio ever doing that. In any case Di Livio was/is a better player than Pepe. He had great leadership qualities with neat football ability, very smart player.

Lichsteiner finally official.

Salihamidzic has left on a free transfer to join Wolfsburg.

This Aguero rubbish is still ongoing. This rumoured move, along with Hamsik to Milan and Sanchez to Barcelona are the three most annoying transfer stories thus far this campaign. I'd rather we go for Rossi anyway - cheaper price and just as good a player.

Agreed, i think you`ll find for Juve it will end tonight...either we will sign him or let it go, and i think atletico wont budge on the price so he wont be heading to torino.

Cesc to Barca is definitely the most annoying, that one's been going on for about 3 years!
Salihamidzic has hardly featured for Juve besides the first couple of seasons when he signed for us. Marrotta has made it clear that he wants to cut down the squad before pre-season training begins.
I can see us signing Rossi instead of Aguero, it's just dragging on too long to give us any indication that it's actually gonna happen.

Reports from Italy are saying Aguero has agreed with Juve, thats not the issue, its atletico trying to get 45 million. They dont want 35 + a player, they just want the money...therefore i dont think he will be going to juve. Marotta always agrees contracts with the player before the club, did the same with Inler and look how that panned out.

Juve's €35m Aguero bid rejected

Spanish sources report Atletico Madrid have rejected a €35m Juventus offer for Sergio Aguero.

According to As newspaper, the Bianconeri bid €32m cash plus ownership of midfielder Tiago Mendes.

It’s a long way off his €45m buy-out clause and the sum Real Madrid are reportedly willing to shell out for the striker.

Amauri and Momo Sissoko were also proposed as potential makeweights in the deal, but Atletico are determined to bring in only cash.

There were also rumours of Manchester City getting involved in the Aguero chase, but in Argentina they see it very much as a two-horse race.

“I spoke to Kun a few days ago,” explained former Boca Juniors star Martin Palermo on Cadena Cope.

“He told me he’s waiting to work out if it’ll be possible to join Real Madrid or Juventus. I think he knows what is best for him, but has no real preference. It depends on what the Atletico directors decide to do.”

I think Marotta should stop wasting his time with Aguero, it is pretty obvious that Atletico are gonna dictate in the end where he ends up, and thats whoever wants to pay his ridiculous release fee. It seems to me that Aguero's agent is leading Juve into a battle we can't win. Marotta has already claimed that Juve will not get into bidding wars over players something he wont have to worry about if he continues to pursue Aguero, Juve may end up missing out on a player like Rossi. In my opinion presents better value, had a better season than aguero did and has already excelled in Serie A so it shouldn't take long for him to settle something which Juventus can't afford this year.

A little bit off topic but here are the new Juve kits....away is a shocker. Not very happy with the last couple of Juve strips, Nike has been a bit disappointing.

The keeper kits would be good for the away top.

And I agree with you re: Rossi. Save that 10-15mil and use it on another player.

Sissoko has not joined the rest of the squad at the pre-season ritiro, which, one would assume, means he will be sold shortly.

Read somewhere that it was because he was undergoing a personal schedule away from the main group (However true that is I do not know). Also no Grosso on the list either.

Agree with Juve's strips, home is not bad, nothing special, but the away is a shocker. I think Juve's strips in the last few years have been good, particularly the away ones. Last years white one, the silver one with the diagonal stripe and the all gold one from previous years were pretty good IMO.

I wouldn't be opposed to a blue away shirt with a yellow star on the shoulder, the best away top in my opinion.

I hope Vucinic isnt being classed as a replacement target for Augero or Rossi.

Not sure what is going on there. Let's say Rossi does get signed, it would be - Rossi, Quagliarella, Del Piero and Matri for certain. Then you have Toni, Iaquinta and Amauri.

I hope Amauri is sold but I can't see them getting rid of Toni after just six months. Then you have Iaquinta, who is injury prone and not what he was - but if someone comes along and wants him, I can't see the club saying no.

Amauri has to go, we gave him enough time to prove himself he hasnt sell him and be done with it. If he does well somwhere else good on him but he's not for us, He has expressed that he wants to leave after the Juve Ultras booed him at training which im sure you heard about.

Toni can be handy off the bench worth keeping him around i guess, did a well enough job at the end of last year IMO.

Iaquinta although your right... he is injury prone and done nothing at all of late. I still have soft spot for him (when he plays) he works hard and has feeling for the club so would't mind him staying.

Rossi or Augero needs to be signed, i still cant decide which i would prefer.. Rossi is Italian and obviously a great player and i love how at least we go for Italians in our team unlike some the other tops teams. But i really think theres something special about Augero.

First I've heard of this story, a 45m pound bid for Tevez: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... ez?cc=3436

How can we spend that much on him (If it's true) and not spend 40 on Aguero who is much younger and has a better attitude than Tevez. This new striker saga is going to roll right until the end of August I can just see it now.

Melo, Amauri and a couple other big names are likely to have played their last games for Juve after they were left out of the squad to travel to America:
http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/20 ... r-usa-tour

Have no problem seeing the back of Amauri, Almiron and Grosso.

Ekdal and Yago likely to go out on loan once again.

Iaquinta is a good player but just too many injuries. He can go for a price.

Melo is the interesting one. An unbeatable player on his day, but there is just too much of a gap between his best and worst games. Also think his lack of discipline might have something to do with it. The red card against Parma on the same day which Quags went down with the knee injury pretty much ruined our whole season from that point on.

Melo: 'I'm leaving Juve'

Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo confirmed: “I’ve received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary. We’re finalising the details.”

There are reports this move could be to any number of clubs, as Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray have all been linked by various sources.

“I’ve received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary,” he told Brazilian media.

“We’re finalising the details and over the next few days everything out to be completed.

“I was not cut from the Juventus squad. Quite simply, in agreement with the directors, we decided it was inconvenient that I should only play in Serie A, considering my salary and the contract that runs to 2014.”

It’s well known Melo is not a part of new Coach Antonio Conte’s plans and failed to win over the Bianconeri supporters.

He had been linked with a return to Brazil, particularly San Paolo, and admits there was truth in those stories.

“I had got to the point of choosing the area I’d live in and I know they’d have treated me with a great deal of affection.

“However, I was very annoyed that people I didn’t even know started commenting on a supposed move to Palmeiras. Flamengo were never interested in me, while Santos and Gremio only ever enquired.”

This must mean the Vidal deal will be wrapped up shortly, I don't think they would let Melo leave without a suitable replacement lined up. Vidal for me represents better value as he combines both tenacity and work rate with good technical ability, he scored something like 12 goals and added 13 assists in the season just past and as David mentioned above there is just to much of a difference between Melo's best and worst perfomances.

Also Juve have officially rescinded Tiago's contract and Rossi's signature could be announced as early as tommorow. Just the left wing position to be sorted and maybe another central defender and we are looking like a very strong proposition for the up and coming season.

Plus we need to get rid of more players. But, if we can seal Rossi and Vidal, make a final assault for a left-winger, it will be looking good.

Thats the key, plus the Moving on of players like Amauri, Iquinta, Toni, Motta.
Good to see the back of Thiago.

I like Melo, but he isn't a box to box midfielder.

Tiago is a piece of merda bidone mercenary. I would have liked to kept his contract for the last year and kept him in the stands!

Getting Ziegler, Pazienza and Pirlo all for free should really help us to lure some big names with big cash now in the latter part of the transfer window.

Excited to see Vidal and Pirlo play together.

Our priorities for the rest of the window should be in this order: 1. Left winger 2. Centre back 3. Rossi

Even though Rossi is a great player our real weakness over the past few years has been the defence, and although Bonucci didn't have much help from average full-backs last year, he was very inconsistent.
