not sure as lirie took the lion relegation spot along with inter, while bosna and macedonia were promotedJay Walking wrote:Who is the other team aside from Port Pirie?gooner4life wrote:Well it will make for an interesting Div 2 anyway, with two teams not there by promotion or relegation but by the grace of the SAASL.
If it goes to form one should get promoted and all will be well and the other will face relagation and cause yet more problems.

It would be poor business on the Amateur Leagues part to start them any lower.
Pirie has it all to prove , you are a new club into the league, we Brahma have been around for a while now with some history in the league and anything but a kickabout club. we have ambitions just like most other clubs in the league and do our best to achieve those ambitions. you havent kicked a ball yet . lets just see how well you do.
if you do as well as you say you will good luck to you but you came in the back door and that is all you are "A BACK DOOR CLUB" no offence.
would be nice to get you in the cup..hope to see you during the season

Referring to Brahma Lodge as a 'kickabout team' fuck me what arrogance - reaching the great heights of the FFSA 3rd Division has obviously gone to your heads
Look forward to the games against the Pirie Superstars - perhaps we should all just focus on second

Re: Provisional League Structure 2010
I've been told that Adelaide Uni won't have a team in Div 2 and that they will remain in Div 3. SAASL is apparently trying to sort out the divisions at the moment thus why they are in the Provisional state and some teams being moved around. Plus just look at how many teams haven't got their C or C2 teams listed in a division yet. Hopefully SAASL can sort this out shortly.gooner4life wrote:Adelaide Uni 2 who finshed 7th in Div 3 last year but because they now have more teams have been promoted to Div 2!Jay Walking wrote:Who is the other team aside from Port Pirie?gooner4life wrote:Well it will make for an interesting Div 2 anyway, with two teams not there by promotion or relegation but by the grace of the SAASL.

In my opinion though Cougars should definitely go up to Div 2 from the Div 3 last year.

Adelaide Villa and Salisbury Villa were ridiculously made to start at the bottom (Division 3 at the time). Adelaide Villa beat another team 22-0 if I remember correctly. The SAASL continued the precedent this year with Adelaide Pumas going into the bottom division (Division 4 at the time).swannsong wrote:Let's have a look at this thing....
Port Pirie did not want to be kicked out of the FFSA competition, it was not their choice.
SAASL have been strong enough to make a tough call to allow a Club, established long before most Amateur clubs, to continue at a level befitting Pirie’s stature. As I am now involved with a Sunday Division 2 club, this decision will have some impact on Southern Knights and the other teams in that division…one club may miss out on promotion or may be relegated at the end of 2010 due to Pirie’s inclusion…..but that’s football.
Hypothetically, placing Pirie in a lower division might have disadvantaged other lower division clubs denying them a promotion opportunity.
USC Lion have struggled a bit of late and are themselves a well established club, if the SAASL management committee has brokered a deal to appease both Clubs and permit Piries to continue on in the SAASL, I commend them for it, maybe not the right decision for all, but one that required some balls to make.
I think there are a lot of people out there whingeing about the decision…..but that’s football (what would football be without whingeing !)
Brokered deals happen all the time in business, law, government…chin up and move on IMO
To call it "just football" is a cop out - it means one rule for some, and one rule for the rest of the league. Port Pirie and USC should either be one merged club in Sunday Division 2, or they should both be starting in Sunday Division 5 and Saturday Division 4 respectively.
As a team that in the starting division I have to agree with the Pirie guy that is depressing knowing that the best you can hope for is 2nd when the new team comes in a lower league - god help you if 2 teams come in the same year - all you can hope for is to not be relegated...
And that was about the difference between Villa and Uni that season also 7-0 both times travelling in first gear.

I think you'll find it was 5-1 and 5-0, i played both games and I remember some fantastic finishes by your boys. You would expect that playing our C team though. I also remember being ankle deep in mud at the away fixture in goals...
But how about you let our A's play your C's and see what the score is!

I clearly stated that I haven't played for Port Pirie for a long time, I don't know why you keep referring to them as my club. I merely made a few points about the standard of the lower divisions. I have never played FFSA 3rd division. I am arrogant however, I for one would never deign to play div 3 amateurs, if I was that bad a player I'd simply play another sport, but I can understand why people play that division simply for a bit of fun and a kickabout.

dont care who your associated with you are an idiot with the above dribble....there are many playing amateurs in all division who could play at an "alleged" higher standard but dont for their own reasons and if you played in pirie when i was in the state league you have nothing to be proud of pal coz you got thumped wek in week out even with the highly paid players you employed from Adelaide town..... i wish Brahma were in div 2 also coz they would tear you to shreds even as a div 3 team....tosser

Well the solution is quite simple.
Bodo, Kitchmo and Hawkesy, you seem to have plenty of spare time so at the next AGM put your hand up to be elected to the Management Committee.
Otherwise STFU
