Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Deluded logic.
Weren't you arguing that he had a rubbish game despite scoring a goal. Now being compared to Michael Thomas, who was an average player who scored an important goal. Did Thomas have a good game that day?
Anyway enjoy your 4th place trophy.

And also scored a goal to help win the FA Cup (1992). Thomas is an Arsenal Legend. Mock all you like, Big Andy scored a vital goal that brought joy to many people including his manager, teammates etc......if he continues to be ridiculed by nomarks but scores goals for LFC I won't complain.Holy Guacamole wrote:Micheal thomas also scored a goal that won arsenal a championship but at the end of the day he was a rubbish player.Elsie Tanner wrote:But yet he scored the goal that got a team to the cup final

LFC players will have 2 medals this season...but winning is not important to the deluded.

Either way i think winning the FA cup and Carling cup are good things for Liverpool, considering their league position.
I suspect next year Carroll will score quite a few.

Indeed it is the bread and butter, WINNING it. remember there was none of this coming fourth is acceptable.
Once we can't win the league I will settle for Cups over coming second.

Personally i'd prefer making the Champions League because it means more players are likely to want to come to the club.
Each to their own though i guess.

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
I take it you have never actually been to a FA Cup final? Once you have been to Wembley and been part of the final you will see why its so much better than coming second.
I reckon EVERY Arsenal player and (real) fan was very very jealous of Liverpool yesterday. Knowing they are going to play in another final and possibly win is what players play for. Success breeds success...so winning is important. Most AFC fans can't remember what a trophy is....

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
sorry, but a CL match at the Bridge/OT/Anfield is fuck all compared to an FA Cup Final. Wembley 1986.......one of the best days of my life.
(having said that, I have never been given a plastic flag when I have got to my seat at Wembley)

A CL spot is better for your club.

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
to some, and maybe the owners. But not to me and many many others.
You may win the CL but assuming you don't, I would say your season is a failure even if you get 4th. To me our season has not been what I expected but one cup win, another final (and having beaten UTd and the bitters along the way) will make it successful and memorable,

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Wow, you've recently won your first minor trophy for years and you're now mocking another club for not winning anything in that same time.! It will be interesting to see if you're still calling this season a success when all you've won is the Carling Cup.The Straw Clutcher wrote:I take it you have never actually been to a FA Cup final? put he bore on ignore, and don't quote him, sadly I have to read his crap when you do such things.
Re: Liverpool 2011/12
LOL At all of Nicky Tanners comments!!! If you dont win the FA cup, your season is a total disaster. Your comments about the champions league are hilarious, every player wants to play in the champions league whether you go on to win it or not!
As for Carrolls ability, hopefully next year he can really perform and score twice as many goals as he did this year.......That woul be around 8 wouldnt it? Anyway top player....

I was talking about league goals . He has really shown his class with an amazing 4 goals in 31 appearances so far..... That's 1 goal every 7.75 games. Liverpool must be proud of what he's given back to the club.
Re: Liverpool 2011/12
When you look at the results we've had while he's been in the starting XI, yes, we can be. It's scary to think that he's only 22 years old and that players in his mould don't tend to peak until later.Ian_Wright wrote:I was talking about league goals . When i look at most of Liverpool's results this season, with or without Andy Carroll, they are piss poor.BowTiesAreCool wrote:When you look at the results we've had while he's been in the starting XI, yes, we can be. Also i know how much you love correcting people Bowties, so just for the record Mr Carroll is actually 23.

But isn't he awful (according to most people on here)?Ian_Wright wrote:He would be better off at a top six club...Perhaps Newcastle.
Surely he's better suited to Liverpool, a club that aren't in the top six then?

I'm sure when KK bought him, he knew it was a speculative risk. He could still be anything.

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Luis Suarez, one of the best players in the league.....moved with no CL football
The list is endless.
Just because you deluded (new era) gooners are happy with top 4 and no cups doesn't mean you are right.
The semi win and the final win v Cardiff has given LFC players, and fans more highs than AFC fans will get all season.
What will be on the front of your season DVD....beating Spurs in the League...where as we will have our captain getting a trophy!!!!
