He has been one of the best midfielders the premier league has seen, no doubt. But face it he is on the decline and nowhere near the player he was....He will have no real impact anymore.

Still dictated the play in almost every game he played in last year. The match at Anfield sticks out for me as one of his best. He hasn't featured much this year but changed the game when he came on against Southampton. Will still be one of the best midfielders in the country for 25-30 games this season.

Not really sure why we're having this debate to be honest? A bigger issue for United is finding someone to replace him like for like but is that even possible unless we buy Xavi or Iniesta?

And LFC were rubbish, so he stars in a game (or 2) that you didn't win against poor opposition.

If it wasn't for him they would have gotten nowhere near second last season. His impact can be seen from the moment he came out of retirement!

As i said this year i dont think he will have much of an impact at all, he will certainly get all of the simple things done but hes not going to help United get that title back.

I think it was the game we lost, I wasn't trying to be funny when I brought up the Anfield game! I just remember he was brilliant and bossed the midfield. Doesn't really matter how bad you were, he was supposedly past it and he was just out of retirement yet there he was giving the Liverpool midfield the run around.
