Para Hills East will play Salisbury Inter in Reserves Final next week at Para Hills West as scheduled.

MAYORS CUP WEEK 3 SUNDAY 26TH FEBUARY
Group 1 - @ Para Hills West SC, Northbri Ave Salisbury East
Game 1 (5pm kick off) - Bosna vs Ingle Farm
Game 2 (5.30pm kick off) - Para Hills East vs Para Hills West

Group 2 - @ Parafield Gdns SC, Bradman Rd Parafield Gardens
Game 1 (5pm kick off) - Salisbury Inter vs Brahma Lodge
Game 2 (5.30pm kick off) - Salisbury Florina vs Parafield Gardens
Cheers for the update Lefty, we're at the mercy of the weather theres not much that can be done about that. Just wondering, were it possible for any of the other teams to hold games at their grounds (example us as we have match approved lights) would this be a possibilty to take place, in effect allowing ressies followed by A's? of course the ressies results wont mean squat unless all teams can do it, and time is no doubt running out, but would this be something the organisers would be open to?

To be clear this was just a thought, a day in the pool with beers followed by watching a 5pm game suits me but would be good to be able to utilise the game days we have set aside. Big thanks have to go to you and the organisers for being able to reschedule things at such short notice as you have so far done. Cheers

i suggest you have a look at any site of the web that has today's forecast, 11 til 3 is not the hottest part of the day! it will still be close to 37 at 6pm! it's an ugle time but on day's like Sunday you are actually better off playing at 9am rather than a 5pm KO.

Wrong, the hottest temp in Adelaide Yesterday was 34.1 Deg at 4.30pm... Check out www.bom.gov.au for recent highest temps and the time it was recorded...

To me it has always been a farce with the timing in the hot weather policy as 3-6pm is the warmest part of the day. Always thought it should be Ressies at 10am, 1st team at 12pm. All finished by 1.30 with half a day of drinking weather...

100% agree with this bunyip ...
The hottest part of the day is usually around late afternoon between 3 & 6

backburner what you are refering to is the UV which is...
At least 60% of the days UV radiation occurs when the sun is high in the sky in the middle of the day between 10am and 2pm or 11am and 3pm during daylight saving.

there is a difference between getting burnt and dehydrated..!!

I actually thought the old 11-3 theory was all based on UV rays? maybe the saasl is looking out of our tan lines. Your right as all of us Craigmore High braniacs are that the weather these days is mostly at its hottest in the early evening, though daylight savings has a part to do with that (not that its usually over 33 in winter) but i guess when you kick off at 9, 10 or 11 the weather is increasing while you play whereas if you kick off at 5 it is going to decrease as you play in most cases

The way the competition was set up in the first instance was to give each team that participates an opportunity to host the cup on a rotation basis. In the first year the order was determined by who finished where. This year is the end of the rotation with the original clubs involved. So depending on the results of this years cup 2 new teams with get to host games next year & then followed by the other 2 new teams the following year then back to the original clubs & so on.

The concept of having quality preseason games was to help attract players out to preseason training early by having a recognised cup to play for which has seemed to have worked. Hope that all makes sense.

Oh OK, interesting to know... Would just of thought that sunscreen would have been a given anyway regardless if it was 25 degrees or 45 degrees... Thought we would be more worried of heat stroke, exhaustion, dehydration etc which i imagine would be caused by the heat, not the UV rays... Anyway, I'm white as frig and ill gt burnt when it's 15 degrees anyway

Bosna v Farm was cancelled due to bosna pulling out i heard. Slightly dissapointing if this is the case. Im sure the farmers would have rather played.

East 0 v Westies 0
Good game I thought. Westies will do ok in div2. They are young (except you richie :)) and rob has got them playing pretty well early on. We had a few more new faces in the side which held there own and was some good experience.

Cant wait to take on the gardens boys next week for the cup :)

With the inclussions of the 4 New Clubs to the Mayors Cup, it certainly makes this a Great Pre-season Competition.

Good Win from our boys with 5-6 missing yesterday, hopefully back to full strength for the Final next week,

Well done to the gardens lads in making this all work out. Lots of helping hands and seemed to run effortlessly. Like most involved I thought it was very enjoyable. Now off to northbri :D

Slightly annoying but what can you do. Lefty tried his best to get us another game but we just played a internal trial at home instead.

We have done ok. Plenty more to work on and we have just managed to get results. The team has changed a lot since last year.

Cant wait for the game this weekend. It will be a great test.
Dave has changed the team around and given a lot of players an opportunity. I'm sure sunday will be no different.
