Where do you get off saying that it was a classic dive mate?! That fair hair lad got fouled in the box, got straight back up, got the ball back and had another attempt on goal.....No penalty. He wasn't lying on the ground, appealing and whinning to you about it!
Why don't you comment on the Downs player's dive?? He flew through the air better than what superman does!
Fair enough he got fouled (OUTSIDE THE BOX!), but he milked it! But I guess you don't comment on his gold medal winning performance though.......well done mate.

No 6 was in my ear all game and I was very leniant with him, late in the second half when I booked your Fair haired lad for diving in the box no. 6 called me a cheat so I booked him too. He deserved it and actually was a hinderence to his team mates because of his mouth. Throughout the game he was complaining about how bad amateur league standards are, as if he could play at a higher level.

PS the dive was a classic and would have made the olympic diving team with that effort. Both teams and me had a chuckle about it except for no. 6.

shhhh petsa!...apparently you need some 'harden the f**k up pills' to make any comments on this situation. Without them nobody will believe you...

It's like feeding pearls to swine, they'll just sniff it and turn around and keep eating their own filth.

And we both know that Shultzy isn't that type of player...in fact josh was absent on Sunday...

ñumero_octavo wrote:Seriously - first half was refereed without fault. All I can say in the second Downs Bs coach must have instructed his players to go out and hurt us physically because the game turned to prison rules and we knew he likes to play the advantage but there were some strong bumps and tackles on the ball that he seemed to just swallow his whistle and not call it back for a free kick. We knew it was going to be a physical contest as Downs don't have a reputation for being marshmallows. When we dished it back they just whinged. Tough contest, very good team but lacked discipline. Fair result.

BTW Their captain was all class. They should follow his example.
I don't normally comment on this forum, just read and have a few laughs. I coach the Downs Ressies and I'm amazed that you can post a dumb comment like that. I did ask the boys to start getting to the ball first and yes we were harder AT THE BALL in the second half, just like your boys were in the first half. I very much doubt if there's anyone coaching in the SAASL who would tell his team to go and "hurt the opposition physically" as you put it. I dare say my boys showed up with bruises all over their legs afterwards, thanks mainly to the blatant kicking from behind by one or two of the Fulham lads. As I said, a dumb, untrue and unfounded comment.

FFS u guys hang on to the most stupidest things. It WAS a rash throw away statement not an accusation. I can pin point at least 4 players in your team mainly the one that was sent off who were playing dirty off the ball.

The main thing is a referee from any club should not come onto an open forum and voice his opinion on the other team. They should wear their referee hat at all times. Fair enough for a player but a ref regardless of where his loyalties lye should remain neutral. It certainly is something you don't see at the highest level and it's something that at that level they could lose their job.

I rarely post on this forum, but marooned triggered our response. End of story.

Good luck, no hard feelings...until we meet again.
