I thought that I had to conform.you know, to be like the rest of you forumites. I now understand why we have them for good or ill. I came on here to debate soccer topics. not to upset anyone. cheers.

United benefitting greatly from VAR yet again, that was a really poor decision to deny Everton a winner. Even if they (wrongly IMO) decide that Sigurdsson was affecting the outcome, Wan Bissaka absolutely flattened Gylfi with a late challenge seconds before. How is that not a foul? It would have been a foul in the centre circle.

Clear offside. If you're a yard away from the keeper (especially in front of him and the ball is inchea away from you) then you're interfering with play.
I have read about the foul but haven't seen it.

I have read about the foul but haven't seen it.
He is clearly in an offside position, but my take on things like that is, would the result have been different if the player hadn't been in that offside position? In this case, he didn't block the view of the keeper because he was laying down and because the deflection off Maguire had totally wrong footed De Gea, the answer is clearly no, he was never going to save it. However, I accept that there can be different interpretations, but then they must go back and give the penalty, it was a nailed on foul anywhere else on the pitch.

im just glad we got a point. I know im old fashioned and I don't approve of VAR I reckon the ref should be left to do his job,but I will take a point any time we don't deserve three. cheers
