Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
so, if his father is macedonian. Why isn't he?COLOSSUS wrote:
The facts are, his father a Greek of Macedonian stock and his mother a Greek of Epirian stock is no different to me as a Greek of Rodian stock on both my parents side or a Croatian like Zeljks whose father may be of Vukovar stock and his mother of (generally speaking) of Dubrovnik stock, it's a no brainer really

Let's put it this way Hawkesy, his mother aint Macedonian but she's still as Greek as his fatherGod is an Englishman wrote:so, if his father is macedonian. Why isn't he?COLOSSUS wrote:

Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
Very good Kop.
Very correct.
The reason why Skops are taking Greek histort as theirs. Is because their is shite and they might as well try and improve themselves. Although I dont understand why the world listens to their ruibbish when it has been proven to be just that - rubbish.
Macedonia has been Hellenic for at least 3000 years.

bit like celon and sri lanka are the same place, zimbabwe and rhodesia. Pretty obvious I would have thought.
Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
Lol you seriously couldnt make this $hit up....6 rounds into the season, the league structure has been changed for 6th time and expanded to 18 teams....From 14 to 12 to 11 then 12 then 14 then 18.
PAOK have played 6 games, AEK 5, Olympiakos and pao 4 and 4 newly promoted sides 0.
The SA local leagues are seriously better organised.....says a hell of a lot!!

well if your going to go down that path, we might as well call Istanbul by it's original name Constantinople, Izmir by it's original name Ephesus, shite, mihgt as well call of the Turkish western coast Greece. How does that prove you right, it proves it USED to be greek (PAST TENSE). In the present (you know the time we are presently in) it's Turkish!!
Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
Down to 16 teams again. However, they have not decided which 2 teams will be added (last years relegated) or next best in 2nd div.
Meanwhile, matches continue on this wknd...

No they haven't, and I only know that because I'm a Diagoras fan. Games still come up on my phone as "postponed"!!!Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:The Kop, have lower leagues started yet?

Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
Diagoras was dropped anyway, you won't be getting phone updates!
They're up there with Volos, Asteras and Kavala in terms of stimena.
No start date for lower leagues as yet.
Mid-Nov at the earliest I'd say.

why have you got another club as your avatar then?COLOSSUS wrote:No they haven't, and I only know that because I'm a Diagoras fan. Games still come up on my phone as "postponed"!!!Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:The Kop, have lower leagues started yet?
I presume that's another club anyway.
Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
My avatar is my team OLYMPIAKOS. I have a soft spot for Diagoras and follow their results because they are a team from Rhodes whom one of my cousins played for and so i am a fan of theirs, but I only support and am a member of 1 club...OLYGod is an Englishman wrote:why have you got another club as your avatar then?COLOSSUS wrote:No they haven't, and I only know that because I'm a Diagoras fan. So you're a fan of one team but you support another :?
Re: Another Greek Tragedy?
As a noun, the word "fan" can be used in many different ways. I already told you I only "support" Olympiakos. I've used the word "fan" as in "to like" another team and given my reasons for it. Quite obviously, "I like" Diagoras because they're a team in Rhodes whom my cousin used to play for. Hope that clarified it for you Mr technicalityGod is an Englishman wrote:COLOSSUS wrote: My avatar is my team OLYMPIAKOS. So, why don't you support your local team. I can't stand bandwagoners.
From where you're from you should support diagoras (I think I might have seen them play - I watched a game when I was in rhodes) or adelaide city/modbury jets/metrostars I think adelaide city would be the closest.

Who says i dont??? My "local team" is neither Diagoras FC or Rodos FC which are the 2 teams from Rhodes who play in the 2nd and 3rd tier of the National competition. Specifically, my local team is in my village which we call "Omonia" who currently play in Div 1 of the Rhodes comps and who I have even played for myself back in the day
Are you saying that every supporter of the local leagues in SA should not support AU???
